Re: What next?
Anyone happen to know of any adventure modules that take place in Dementlieu? Feast of the Falcons - I think Gonzoron wrote this one. I dont know if he wrote out the adventure itself, but you can follow his group through it here Sessions 9-10 I believe it's written up in one of the Quoth the Ravens.

Re: If Vlad Drakov is incompetent, then he is not cursed.
I've never considered him incompetent, nor have I ever played him as such. In one campaign he actually successfully invaded Dementlieu for a short period. I had that as part of his curse. Every so often he's allowed victory. That way defeat is much, much more bitter. In another campaign I actually h...

Re: Living Brain adventure idea
Feasting with the Falcons definitely will be helpful in my planning! Thanks! Cool! Glad to be helpful. If you're interested in how things went down when I originally ran it in my campaign, my journals are here: themistway.com Feasting with the Falcons was sessions 9 and 10. Also of note, I revisite...

Re: Wizards announced two more upcoming products with Vistan
I just saw the disclaimer on DMs Guild: We (Wizards) recognize that some of the legacy content available on this website does not reflect the values of the Dungeons & Dragons franchise today. Some older content may reflect ethnic, racial, and gender prejudice that were commonplace in American s...

I'd hate for this sensitive demographic to find out about Carnival lmao.

Re: Wizards announced two more upcoming products with Vistan
I see this as a slippery slope. Ravenloft has always had a heavy set on racism. Outside of Darkon, most areas are heavily distrusting to anything non-human. If they're going to retcon the Vistani there could be further retcons to the rest of the core. Especially considering how popular CoS it wouldn...

Re: Curse of Strahd - A twist!
They ignore the druid calling himself Strahd, but kill the Paladin!? Couldn't they have just tied him up and looked at the book to see what was up? No no. The druid wasn't calling himself Strahd. He was addressing Strahd. The player told the druid in druidic that he was Strahd in disguise and for t...

Re: Curse of Strahd - A twist!
So glad to hear you are using Strahd the statesman rather than Strahd who openly couldn't care less what people thought of him. It keeps more of original Dracula's "charm". I take it the dinner invitation fell through. What happened with the people from the stockades bound up in the attic...

Re: Curse of Strahd - A twist!
I have heard of the death house only version of this, but this is amazing. Thank you! Before I answer the questions, just some other points to make aware. This was the conversation I had with my player when I picked up CoS; "Hey dude, I recently picked up CoS and I'm gonna be running it in a f...

Curse of Strahd - A twist!
After six months of previous planning and five months of bi-monthly games lasting 6-7 hours each, I finally revealed Strahd to my players..... ...as another player who had secretly been possessed shortly after entering the Village of Barovia and has been role-playing as the BBEG. This has stretched ...

Re: To clip a falcon's wings
IMC, Dracov invaded Dementlieu again and was actually winning. My players were trying to find potential allies to help with Mother Fury's lycan uprise in Kartakass, under plee from Harkon Lucas. Eventually the PCs became quite friendly with Dracov (it was an evil campaign and one of the PCs had met ...

Re: QtR 26
The Mummy's Curse is definitely creepy. I would have to change it a bit as I don't like to give my player's curses of this type unless they do something to deserve it. Lycanthropy sure but that is the risk of tangling with one even if its unavoidable. Unless the PCs kill the NPCs, they shouldn't ge...
