Re: New Monster: The Black Widower

Combat: Spider princes engage in combat only to “protect” ladies from ruffians or other nuisances (which were not too seldom hired by them in the first place). Like their red cousins, they lure their victims near and embrace them. Since they feed slower than red widows (and have to keep them around...

Re: New Monster: The Black Widower

Black widowers (or spider princes ) are the male counterparts of the red widows ( Ravenloft Monstrous Compendium I ), i.e. giant spiders that can transform into human form (black widowers can also transform into elven or half-elven form, see below). However, the species’ are not related, and most sa...

New Monster: The Black Widower

Greetings, ladies, gentlemen, and – umm – thingies, Some time ago (Wed Dec 14, 2011 4:12 pm) I posted on this: http://www.fraternityofshadows.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7883&start=30 an idea for a new monster, the male version of the Red Widow. It has taken its sweet time, but here I humb...

Re: Favorite Ravenloft monster

No but i'm pretty sure you could just homebrew it. Just use the same stats for a male. *shrugs* hmm, I'm pretty sure a red widower should have other stats. (or maybe call him "black widower") I seem to remember that there are only a few species of spiders where the male gets to eat the fe...

Re: Favorite Ravenloft monster

Err - there is not, per chance, a male version of the Red Widow (a Red Widower?) somewhere?

just asking 'cos I'm a redhead. And this would be my favourite monster.

Re: Gargoyle lifespan

The 2e MMs say nothing about the lifespan of gargoyles. OTH, there are several different creatures in 2e which can be classified as "gargoyles", the living gargoyles, the abishai (which are demons and probably immortal), and the gargoyle golems (which are technically not alive and therefor...

Re: Dread Elemental Domains

sry I was too late

but I do think this topic may get a second part; especially when really _describing_ the elemental domains and pockets.
And yes, I think four DEDs are enough; all others should be pockets.
btw, thx for the great work

Re: Dread Elemental Domains

One thing I always loved about the Gazeteers are the short descriptions. That°s why I’m offering sd’s for the Dread Elemental Domains. These may be used, even in changed form, for any submissions to the QTR. Any information changed or invented by me is marked by an asterisk * and/or brackets [] Drea...

Re: The Codex Titas

The Mists are whispering... They whisper about Count Strahd, and his pact with the Dark Powers, and the book by which he swore. They whisper about a book that tells about the origins of the Mists, and the secrets of the Mists. They whisper that this book may be holding the key to the downfall of the...

Re: The Codex Titas

Many centuries ago, before Barovia joined the Mists, a count, maybe even a count Von Zarovich, hosted a company of monks (some say, they numbered 23), including their abbot. Their order, sometimes called the Order of Vey, studied and learned, meditated and prayed, teached and lectured. One of the mo...

The Codex Titas

The Mists are whispering... There are not many creatures who can even hear that whispering. And even less understand it. And only very, very few realize what it means. Azalin Rex, who is said to know even the thoughts of the lowliest Darkonian, can’t hear it. Maybe he feels it in his dead bones. Cou...

Re: Sports in the Mists

Darkonese Gladball DG is played on an oval field, 160 by 90 yards. On one of the longer sides (called the Player Side) is the Player Line, in the middle is the Ball Field (a circle), on the other side are the Spider Line and the Goal Bags. DG is normally played by three teams that are traditionally...

Re: Shadow asp toubles

In a sealed tomb, both them and the rats that would feed them would suffocate to death. Also, rats need food and water too you know. You can't bring rats in your tomb unless there's something the rats feed on. As to the asps: if they are indeed elemental or undead creatures, they do not need...
