Re: Ravenloft Artbook of Talon Dunning
That's one way of looking at it, I suppose.

Re: Ravenloft Artbook of Talon Dunning
I only accept private commissions at con appearances (which pretty much means GenCon and DragonCon). I usually end up doing one or two a day at the show, and then take the rest home to complete over the next year. Ron's was the first in, but due to its complication, I skipped it and brought it home,...

Re: Ravenloft Artbook of Talon Dunning
Sorry. Even the best handwriting sometimes leaves one guessing.
I'm glad you liked the piece! Thanks again for the commission.

Re: Ravenloft Artbook of Talon Dunning
The paper is 14x17. The art is significantly smaller, but likely two to three times bigger than the final print size. That's not unusual. You almost always want to work bigger than the final print size.Zilfer wrote:Wow the originals are THAT BIG?!?!?!?

Re: Ravenloft Artbook of Talon Dunning
I'd dearly love to buy that, but couldn't offer nearly enough dough to give you what that prize is worth. I hope someone out there gives it a happy home. (and maybe does a Tarrokka-reading in-game with it. How cool would that be?) They're three to a page, so you'd have to cut them out to use them a...

Re: Ravenloft Artbook of Talon Dunning
Have a safe and fun trip to DragonCon. Out of curiosity, how different is GenCon from DragonCon? I know the badges are more expensive... DragonCon is a very different experience than GenCon. GenCon is entirely game-focused, while DC has a little something for everyone. There's gaming, but it's a ve...

Re: Ravenloft Artbook of Talon Dunning
Hey folks. Remember the Tarokka? Well, I still have the original art for the entire deck... all 72 (I think it was) illustrations... And I'd like to sell them. They're done in ink (the only of my Ravenloft art done in that medium), three to a page, on 14" x 17" bristol board. Some have sma...

Re: Ravenloft Artbook of Talon Dunning
Purchasing those was an honor, especially the Knight of the Shadows piece. Like I said before, he was the inspiration for Nathan Hawke from Mordentshire and remains one of my favorite characters of all time. Well, I certainly appreciate your patronage and am glad those pieces have found a good home...

Re: Ravenloft Artbook of Talon Dunning
If I might ask, what was the inspiration for the Knight of the Shadows picture? And while I'm at it, did you use a model for Gennifer and Laurie, or was that something you had in your mind when asked to draw them? Any idea on how long each piece took for you to finish? The questions I think of now ...

Re: Ravenloft Artbook of Talon Dunning
Please be sure and let me know when the hardcover might be coming out. I'll definitely be interested in picking up a copy! Out of curiosity, have you ever sketched a map for Ravenloft campaigns, and if so, could you share one with us? I would wager that many here would like to see it if so, and if ...

Re: Ravenloft Artbook of Talon Dunning
Oh, well, I had better hope you decide to release a POD version. Your artwork made 3.x of Ravenloft interesting. It is a shame they couldn't get you to fully illustrate everything in them... You mean do every illustration? It rarely works that way. You generally want a book with a bit of artistic d...

No, I'm sorry there's not a PDF version. My sketchbooks are print only.Ultramyth wrote:Is a pdf version of Out of the Mists available somewhere? A printed book would be good, but I would settle for a pdf. None of the links on Fantastic Gallery mention it at all.

Re: Ravenloft Artbook of Talon Dunning
Hopefully next year I can manage to bring my other two core Ravenloft books from 3.5E to be signed, if that's alright. :) Sorry, only one autographed book per customer. :-) Yeah, that's totally cool. You bring it, I'll sign it. And it was a pleasure meeting you as well. Thanks for coming by and cha...

Re: Ravenloft Artbook of Talon Dunning
I have pulled down my store at Arcane-Marks.com and replaced it with a simple page that re-directs to my DriveThruRPG and Etsy stores, as well as my Facebook fan-page. If you missed my earlier announcement, please be aware that Out of the Mists: The Ravenloft Art of Talon Dunning is now sold out and...

Re: Ravenloft Artbook of Talon Dunning
It's funny when you see a piece of art you did a long time ago that you haven't seen since. It puts it in a whole new perspective. I saw the above and my first thought was, "My God, here eyes are enormous!"
