Re: Werewolf and Wolfwere confusion....
I think the whole "Ravenloft hides things" concept comes into play here as well. I can more easily see werewolves and wolfweres identifying each other by scent (and having that scent be keen enough to differentiate between the two types of creature) if we're on Oerth or Krynn or Toril. Re: The Galen Saga - The Song of the Taverners
I think it went like this:
*Evee heard a knock at the door.
*Brom opened it and found the baby.
*Trebor suggested going to the Carnival.
It was so free form and unstructured, especially at the beginning, that it's quite difficult to piece together everything.

Regarding the mind flayer... playing Rules As Written, would I get the mind blast since it's a spell-like ability? Rules for the metamorphosis power (and you're right, it's basically a psionic version of the polymorph spell) indicate that you do not get the "extraordinary special qualities possessed ...

Character Optimization for a 3.5e Psionic Character
Hi, everyone,
Long time no post (but fairly-frequent lurking). Hope everyone's doing well.
Recently, I was given the opportunity to play in a semi-regular 3.5e game set in Ravenloft. Wanting to make the most of this opportunity (as rare as it is), I wanted to do something I haven't done before, so ...

Couple of thoughts:
*A doorway that actually leads into the stomach or intestines of someone in the party. If anyone's read "The Dancing Hut of Baba Yaga", you know where I got this. The PC whose body the doorway leads into can't pass the doorway, of course, but everyone else can--and the walls are ...

From what I've read (and I haven't managed to make it through the entire series yet, just the first book), C.S. Lewis never really intended the stories to be Christian allegories per se; in fact, several sources I've seen have included a statement something like the following:
"It's not allegorical ...

I would say for the most part that it depends on what level your PCs currently are and how long you want this mysterious gentleman around. I would agree that a lich or a dragon COULD be too powerful for them to deal with directly, but that assumes that both the NPC and the PCs are stupid enough to ...
