Re: Radical changes in Ravenloft in your campaign
https://www.fraternityofshadows.com/Library/Visual%20Timeline.pdf My radical change to Ravenloft has to do with its history. I believe the Core formed in six main conjunctions and the domains broke off from one another from there. Barovia, Arak, Mordent, Darkon, Gundarak, and Nova Vaasa all came in...

Re: Gothic Horror vs Dark Fantasy
In the Cartulary of Nartok, and then again in this year's Quoth the Raven, a lot of effort was made to let a game master "file off the ears" of the demihuman races in Darkon so that a DM could re-skin the races as tribes instead if that matches their game. The xenophobic bent of the classi...

Re: Quoth the Raven #31 (Halloween 2024) Reaction Thread
Thanks Rock. I submitted it prematurely when I was nervous there wasn't any content. In fact I have a lot more to go with this concept and you will see more next year now that I know there's an appetite for the topic. I'm also thrilled to have my visual timelines hosted here and hope everyone can fi...

Re: Ravenloft Cartographical Society
Mephisto, you have a good eye. As you mentioned, the bridge is an addition; it wasn't there in the 735 map from the Black Box. And its position is indeed conspicuous....but I assure you not accidental. I don't want to give away to much as we will be writing a cartulary on the city in the future.

Re: Ravenloft Cartographical Society
Hello from the Ravenloft Cartographic Society, the only Social Studies class dedicated to the Land of Mists. I have begun micro-sharing the visualized Ravenloft timeline on the FB group, which should get us through the witner. I have presented both my own "large domain" theory maps as well...

Thank you, alhoon. I'm not sure it was ever a link but that's a fine idea, so it is now!

Re: A map of the dread domains
Some fine work has been done which is available on this site, particularly Jester's maps of the Core and Ryan Naylor's Formation of the Core. May I humbly offer my own entry to this in the Core Genesis v4, available in the Mausoleum. Also if you like maps, I suggest the Ravenloft Cartographic Societ...

Re: Community Idea: Settlements!
I love the intrigue in Hazlan, I just wonder if the inn should have a more Hazlani name rather than share with a village in Mordent. Hazlan in all editions is in need of more development, more secrets to uncover, and more reason to go over the Balinoks to get there.

Re: Original stats of Prince Mircea?
I'm not sure I ever saw 2nd edition stats for Mircea; the only stats I have ever seen for him were from Ryan Naylor's Pathfinder edition, available at the library of this very site. Children of the Night: the Lords of Ravenloft he is featured starting on page 146. From there, converting back to 2nd ...

Re: Ideal Ravenloft Videogame
A game like Uncharted Waters where you can immerse yourself in the economics of the game and just try to make money traveling and selling, but also could pull on threads of adventure and end up down rabbit holes. Total sandbox without leveling of encounters so you'd have to know you can't just storm...

Re: Ways of Getting Around Canon...
Azalin could be behind getting around both of these. He can--and has--choose not to inscribe memories for any individual as he sees fit. It would be quite a storyline to follow why he chose to leave someone's memories intact. Also spying for Azalin or Darkon as a whole has the advantage of magical a...

Re: Net canon settlements
You bet it does, although that author clearly visited the Mordent Cartographic Society back in the day because Mitternacht was on one of Gomez's maps, as the village around the Aubrecker estate. Good to see it show up again and thanks for the research!
