It shouldn't surprise you. When 3e came out there were promises of software (even a demo) that ended up getting shelved. We instead ended up with E-Tools from CodeMonkey (not that E-Tools was terrible). What was supposed to be even better than the 2nd Edition computer program (remember that?) turned...

I thought that the original plan was for DDI subscribers to input some sort of code from the books you buy that allowed you to gain access to that material and without the codes, you could only access core stuff?

It's alright, I guess. Nothing outstanding. I've only seen the first episode, so I'm not sure about the rest of the series as it currently stands. To me, the subject matter has been covered better by shows such as X-Files and now Supernatural. I even think that the original Kolchak series covered it...

Some people prefer to ignore anything associated with Vecna and Kas in Ravenloft anyway (not sure about the FoS viewpoint on the subject). I know for a fact that most of Vecna's escape from the Mists into Sigil is ignored by Planescape fans, also.

Of course there are people still reading. There's only so many times that someone can say "love it" or "great work" before it just gets repetative (and yeah, great work so far). I'm pondering some ideas on the subject and actually plan to contribute at some point. I can't say it ...

I knew you had a thing for fey, as we have talked about it in the past. Honestly, what I'm reading here is very good and I'm glad that the fey are getting their due somewhere. I have always felt that the fey were fairly weak as presented, especially considering how old and powerful they are supposed...

This one isn't Ravenloft, or any type of gothic horror, but I once tried something a bit different with my group that fell very flat and took a huge chunk of time out of our regularly scheduled game. While out determining the cause of the latest impending world-ending disaster, the group found an ol...

I've got a Halloween party today that the wife and I will be dressing up for. This is the third consecutive year for the party. This year, I went cheap. I'm simply a redneck mechanic. The previous costumes were Hugh Hefner and Shaggy. On Friday, we're taking the baby on her first Halloween outing, b...

Depends, really. I'm more of a fan of survival-type horror when it comes to video games (which is just the run away and stay alive version of one or more of the already mentioned types, I guess). If it's something I'm reading, then it's Lovecraftian (which is a very loose term). Watching? With the e...

Yeah, he's a unique creature that shouldn't be one of many or an established D&D beastie. It's like asking "what IS Orcus" or "what type of demon is the Demogorgan"? Well, there are a handful of unique demon lords that are also obyriths. Pale Night, Dagon, and Obox-Ob (or ho...

I still think there's something very sick and wrong with showing the audience a baby falling and hitting the pavement then bleeding out before it gets eaten. Not that the rest of the movie was any better, but at least all the other bad things happened to adults. They weren't innocents like a child....

Alright, I gave the show another chance last night and I actually found it more enjoyable. That show is what I tend to like, in that it left you with more questions that answers (What was the device and why was it important? What did it do other than dig holes and appear out of nowhere? Who employed...

It's not bad, I guess. I watched the season premiere, and I enjoyed it. But then I watched the second episode and couldn't get into it. I didn't even bother watching the third episode and instead watched Eureka on Sci-Fi. Considering Fringe is from the same guy who brought us Lost (my favorite show ...

After doing a little digging, I found that the xeg-ya and xeg-yi were both in the 3e Manual of the Planes. As of now, I have no idea if they ended up getting updated in a 3.5 supplement or not.
