The Chaperone is a golem created by Bethany Jamieson (whom calls it Amber). It takes the form of a stuffed cat (but more the size of a hound) made of patchwork materials with tiny needles and knives for claws and two buttons for eyes. It holds inside of it the heart of Bethany's dead tomcat.[1]
The Chaperone craves constant attention, something that Bethany has failed to provide as of yet. As a result, the Chaperone is becoming increasingly alienated from her and taking more and more trips into Bethany's Village to spy on Bethany and the other villagers. Jealously it killed Arthur Bothel, Bethany's would-be suitor.[2]
Special Characteristics
The Chaperone is related to straw golems and shares their fire immunity. It can summon and control cats and dogs to do its bidding.[3]
