According to Esmeralda Vicushev, Desperation's Road is a temporary passage through the dense forests of Forlorn. The road appears when a bargain is struck between a raunie and Azenwrath. In return for the passage, the raunie agrees to have her tribe camp within the clearing for a night and face "a terror" sent by Azenwrath. Madame Eva made one such deal with Azenwrath to escape the minions of Duke Gundar at the Gundarak-Forlorn border.[1] It is unclear if non-vistani can strike a similar bargain, or if Azenwrath is still the keeper of the road, given his transformation from dread treant to spell-rune golem.
