Owing in part the fact of Barovia as the first domain of Ravenloft, the Barovian Calendar is a measure of time used by the vast majority of the Core.[1] (The Forfarians being the exception, for they use their own, Forfarian Calendar.)[2]
The calendar begins with the unification of Barovia from several separate city states by the Von Zarovich Family. However, the details of the next 350 years or so of the history of Barovia are scant and sketchy, especially of the lands surrounding Barovia. This changes with the First Revelation, the arrival of Barovia into the Mists as the first domain.[1]
