Talk:The Headless Horseman
I'm going to state this because it's always annoyed me -- I've always considered the Headless Horseman's accepted origin story to be utter rubbish. If a noblewoman cut off my head to use my vital fluids as improvised bath salts, my following strategy for a tormented afterlife wouldn't be to go and terrify totally unrelated, unsuspecting people on a road throughout eternity and nothing else.
At the very least, I'd challenge Jacqueline Montarri to a staring contest. But seriously, if I was given free rein to fix or rewrite any part of Ravenloft lore, the Headless Horseman would be my first choice. There's a lot of potential for a solid and powerful backstory to such a character other than "crazy woman cut off my head for a bath, time to go carve people up on a road throughout eternity."

...and this is what, the third time I've complained about something on a talk page that's already long been fixed? In my defense, I've never been a reader of the Dungeon or Dragon periodicals. So disregard everything I said above here.
Except for the staring contest with Jacqueline Montarri. I stand behind that one.
