For the transgressions Dr. Mordenheim caused him, Adam did not want Dr. Mordenheim to die but instead to feel his torment for all eternity. Adam called to the gods to curse Mordenheim, to link the both of them together so that Mordenheim would feel Adam's suffering and pain, and to link their fates together in wretched immortality. Adam vowed to reign divine wrath down upon Mordenheim, to be his eternal tormentor and punisher. The Dark Powers granted his wish, linking both Adam and Mordenheim together in eternal damnation. This perhaps was the seminal event that lead to Lamordia becoming a Ravenloft domain, as the sharing of pains (both physical and mental), as well as the first signs of regeneration, occurred shortly after Adam's invocation of the curse.[1]
