So, I have an upcoming boss fight for my players, and I'm trying to put together a little playlist of music (I like having some stuff going in the background) that works for the bossfight in question. The PCs will be squaring off against a pair of sculptors, only to find out to their surprise and horror that they are actually a medusa (also a barbarian) and her maedar (an archer) lover.

Songs I've already picked out:

'Poison' by Alice Cooper
'Paralyzer' by Finger Eleven
'Voodoo' by Godsmack

I've seen a couple options that fit the theme, but many of them are downers, and I want the music to help keep the energy up, since I have noticed that protracted fights can get a little boring for some of my players.

I usually don't use music with (English) lyrics, so my usual suggestions probably won't fit with what you've already got. But if you're looking for a) metal and b) title/lyrics that fit a medusa and maedar, here are a few off the top of my head.

"Stone Cold Crazy" by Queen, as covered by Metallica (on Garage Inc, IIRC)
"Surprise! you're dead" by Faith no More

I've used Nightwish in the past. Particularly "End of All Hope" during the battle with Azalyn in From the Darkness/Roots of Evil.

The beat is heavy and quick and fits battle nicely. You could also use "Over the Hills and Far Away."

Or Mourning Palace with Dimmu Borgir if it's not too harsh

Oh and I usually use classical music.

Bram Stoker's Dracula's OST is pretty good unless they are too familiar with it.

I had one lich called the Voice of Ancient Times and his underling Vassalich Opaleyes both who always battled my party to the tune of Carl Orff's O Fortuna.

Dark ambient or Atmospheric Black Metal. Maybe Cascadian Black Metal. Depressive black is good too. You can make a great mix on soundcloud. Lots of nice obscure music for a great backdrop.

I Know this might sound odd, but Incubus has a long song in four parts great for fighting.

1st , 2nd, 3rd and 4th movement of the Odyssey. This might be from some video game.

Maybe not for a boss fight unless the boss is a ghost or something.

So, the original reason I started this thread is long in the past. (The medusa nailed two of them, and more importantly started a moral quandry that it took half a game session to resolve, so I feel good about myself.)

This Friday, my lovely and adoring wife is going in to have labor induced, so my game has gone on indefinite hiatus. Fortuitously, we were at a great stopping point. First game when we return in a few months? Carnival!

So, now I need to assemble a Carnival play list. So far my play list includes:

Karn Evil 9 (Emerson, Lake & Palmer)
Ladies and Gentlemen (Saliva)
People are Strange (The Doors)
Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves (Cher)

I want to keep the mood energetic. I don't want to include anything slower than People are Strange. I'd like to keep the strange, slightly sinister air the first three songs have, while still keeping the music appealing. Any thoughts? I'd really appreciate any suggestions.
