I also like the use of blood and the feeling of perversity on that attack.

Page 7 is up.

Nothing really big to say this week. As a little something, I pictured Vincent's hammer in the top right of the new page as being, game mechanic's wise, a Bastard Sword that does bludgeoning damage (1d10, exotic weapon proficiency to use it one handed).

I like the miscreant. Your portrayal of him is somebody who doesn't look particularly vulpine, and also seems relatively harmless. The attack itself is a mixture of shocking violence and also of tasteful restraint - almost like a gentle embrace, albeit with a backdrop of bloodstains.

Looking forward to see whether this aesthetic dual nature will translate into a dual personality too! Keep it up!*

Page 8 is up.

My Vampire decided to have a little fun redecorating the church.

Right, also forgot. Critical x3, not 19-20 (like the Warhammer).

All right, all right  . Since you guys have been good fans so far, I'll post two pages on the week of Christmas. I can't make two pages a week a regular thing yet though :(. Maybe in the future, however .

I kind of want to call him Sideshow-Vamp, if only because of the way his hair turned out. I'm glad that's the effect my drawing had though.

OOOOooooo, speculation. Well, I shall reveal nothing!

No, that isn't Strahd Von Zarovich on the front page *shift eyes left, shift eyes right*...CLEARLY, I'm just trying to fool you guys into thinking so. *shift eyes left, shift eyes right*

It looks great, but me and my myopic eyes can't read what's written on the stained glass window. Help a nerd in distress out?

Why certainly. While Sideshow-vamp was having an Art-Attack in the church, he took to writing the word 'Tarfa' (with sort of a '^' accent on each 'a') on the stain glass portrait of Ezra. It's Romanian for a number of unpleasant things one could say about a woman.

I've been looking at some of the different netbooks released here, and it would seem that you are quite the artist yourself, Isabella :).

Hah hah, burn.

-now that would be cool, watching someone fail a powers check on screen.

Hmm, now there's an idea.

Page 9 is up.

And here I bet you guys thought Vincent was going to be a reoccurring character.

Tara seems remarkably calm for the situation she's in.

Wait and see good sir, wait and see. You guys mind if I simply make the next update the double update, instead of putting an extra page on Christmas day? It just makes things easier, since I'm going to be busy all that day.

I've decided to take a bit of a different spin on Tara that would typically be seen in the 'damsels in distress' that pop up so often in this kind of story. My philosophy is that someone who has a soul that has been violated by Strahd umpteen times probably wouldn't easily give into fear (since she's already been through a lot in previous lives). I'm also a not a big fan of useless female characters. Eventually I intend upon making her a strong character, albeit after a little maturity sets in.

For those of you who might be wondering, I do already have the story set out for at least another year's worth of material, if not more. I intend to walk a fine line between the canon material that we all know and love, and making a story that people not familiar with the setting can enjoy. I really appreciate the support it's getting so far :D, and hope that one day I can make more than one page a week a regular thing.

On one hand, good on you. Tatayana breaking out of her "perpetual victim" cycle is a great twist in the whole Ravenloft story. On the other hand, a vampire just killed her friend and is leaping at her face; it's not "useless" to show fear or suprise in that case-unless our girl Tara has some sort of trick up her sleeve that warrents the calm look on her face.

And dude, I don't think anyone's going to complain if the holidays mess with your schedual a little bit, y'know? Thanks for telling folks in advance!

Good call.

Pages 10 and 11 are up. Merry Christmas everyone!

By the way, there's something you guys need to know. As a writer, I *love* to dick with my readers. I never technically said that Vincent was dead, I merely implied it to screw with you guys :D. Although I won't be surprised if I wasn't fooling everyone.

But if you were fooled: You have been struck by the Phantom of the Sketch Book, haha!

What I wasn't fooling around about was my intention to break the typical personality of Tatyana's incarnations. I'm just not going to have her go Xena on any creatures of the night as of yet.

The script that Vincent recites is from the "Book of Ezra", included in the appendix of the third Gazetteer. Sufferers of myopia currently cursing my name for using such a small font should know that this dialog isn't too important for the story.

Still, we would have liked to read it. :)

Thank you very much for these two pages! They are as usual well drawn and nice. The vampire seemed much more menacing now, it seemed to be far taller and broader than Tara.

Viny hurt the vamp really bad with the Searing light. So I guess he's about 7th-8th level cleric. We will see.
