Polymorph forms

I have a 17th level wizard in a game and I'd like some help to decide what polymorph forms he can get (15HD). Of course I prefer forms that can cast spells. Any ideas?

A shadow dragon, of some appropriate age category for the HD limit of 15, would be nice. 120 ft flight, +7 natural armour, a chance to chat up Ebb, what more could you want? And they have hands, can become accomplished spellcasters, so casting should be fine. Of course many of Ravenloft's finer establishment refuse entry to shadow dragons . . . but of course you can have your revenge by biting the bouncer in two.

Thanks cure, I have forgotten to say though that the game isn't in RL so it can be even easier.

Hey VAN how about the following:
1)Any Dragon
2)Giant
3)Elemental

Yes, choose the best type is the problem!

According to the HD of course!

Actually I look for two forms: One good to close combat (that can be a giant) and one more defensive, with high natural armor etc.

Elemental? I don't think that you can turn to elemental with polymorph.

VAN, go for Fire giant.
