RL novels - TOP 5
RL novels - TOP 5
I shall prepare some proposal of publishing plan for the publisher of WotC novels in my country. At the first stage I need to choose the best 5 Ravenloft novels (besides other settings), but I do not want to decide it only on my opinion.
Thus I´d like to ask you for what is your Top 5 in Ravenloft novels. Thank you for your replies in advance.

The best to publish to get interest in Ravenloft would probably be:
Vampire of the Mists (The first and arguably the best novel. Also linked to Forgotten Realms)
I, Strahd (A novel centered around the settings most prominent character)
Tales of Ravenloft (A collection of short stories)
King of the Dead (A novel about the second most prominent character. Links to Greyhawk)
Knight of the Black Rose (Links to the Dragonlance setting)
I'm also a big fan of Scholar of Decay, but that probably won't make the cut.
I'm also curious, do you represent an actual company, Vannax, or are you trying to do this independently?

Me? Oh, top on my head would be To sleep with evil
---
Seriously, my top Ravenloft novels would be:
Carnival of Fear
I, Strahd
Vampire of the Mists
Dance of the Dead
To Sleep with Evil
Knight of the Black Rose
Baroness of Blood
Those I do reread once in a while. The others, no, unless I need it for a game session.

Thanks to all of you. The current result is the following Top 5:
1. I, Strahd
2. Vampire of the Mists
3. Tales of Ravenloft
4. I Strahd: War against Azalin
5. Dance of the Dead
Further opinions are welcome.

No, I do not represent that company. As an most active RL promoter in Czech Republic I was just asked to prepare this list.Lost Heretic wrote:I'm also curious, do you represent an actual company, Vannax, or are you trying to do this independently?

1) Scholar of Decay
2) To Sleep With Evil
3) Spectre of the Black Rose
4) I, Strahd; The War Against Azalin
5) Heart of Midnight
Though there aren't many I didn't enjoy, Shadowborn and Lord of the Necropolis being the two I don't like.
