Ebay warning

Post by Gonzoron of the FoS »

Hey everyone,

I know we've got some crazy collectors here (myself included). I recently stumbled on this ebay listing and was very confused, thinking it was something I'd never seen before, and lamenting that it was so expensive.

http://cgi.ebay.com/TSR-AD-D-RAVENLOFT- ... 0029225872

But on further inspection, the picture matches exactly to one of the pages printed on the back of my "Free TSR Gold Map" from '98. So, I just wanted to inform anyone who saw this listing what it actually is. I'm not going to say don't bid on it. If you think the Gold map is worth 50 pounds, go ahead. But you should know what you're bidding on, at least.

Happy hunting,
Ron

Wow, that's crazy-expensive. I remember when someone had 5 copies of the gold map out for like $10 a pop.

Yeah I managed to get one of those for $10. No way I would pay £50 for one.

Well, 0 bids so far... I hope no one buys it thinking it's something really rare, and then finds out they have it already...

Conspectus Posters I have the birthright, planescape and forgotten realms ones, i do not remember how i got them but i ran a store at the time, so maybe they were free with orders. They had product listings within it and campaign information as well.

That ravenloft pic, is actually gold tsr map not one of these posters. I believe the back page of these posters had novel listings not such text. Everything in colored background.

I wonder if these peoples are crook, or try to sell something they know nothing about...

I've bought stuff from cougarrinard before (he's actually a specialist RPG seller) and he's usually pretty good with descriptions. He's probably just got the wrong end of the stick.

Looks like it didn't sell, thankfully. I've dealt with cougarrinard before too, with no problems. Probably just confused on this one.

Ah, and he's now relisted it at a much more reasonable 1 pound starting bid... :)
