World's Largest Dungeon

Anyone gotten to look through this supplement? I saw a description while browsing the gaming books on Amazon. It looks interesting, a dungeon crawl meant to take characters from 1st to 20th level. Hate to say this, but a guy (name of Darren) I played under ran one that ran for 50 dungeon levls and took characters up to 40th level. The place was HUGE and was of his own design (including stuff to do outside the dungeon when you left it). I didn't see his ever published though, so fudos to those who got theirs out there

I played through the first 8 levels of Darrens dungeon and it was very well plotted out and detailed, the guy spent months on the thing.

Oh I never said it was the largest ever devised. It's just hte largest published.

I thought there was a larger one published in the past? I may be wrong though. My memory is worse than a seize lol.

There may have been, I'm not sure. But then they couldn't get away with a name like that if their had been one.

It may be that it is the largest dungeon in a single book? I know that typically, huge dungeons have a habit of appearing in a mini-series or campaign to keep the costs of producing the books down (and then they charge an exorbatent amount of money for each installment).

I've seen it for sale at the local shop. It's big, sealed, and costs a bundle.

same here. It was BIG and heavy. (maybe 2 inches thick?) and had what appeared to be a large map. But it was shrink wrapped, and $100. No way I'm gonna buy that sight unseen, especially since I'm not big on dungeon crawls. Impressive, and ambitious, but not my cup of tea.

Ok this for a supplement... For a minute there I thought some one got into my garage and took pictures of it. I havent seen it but I think I'll check it out.

Having just looked about on amazon and the like, I will admit that the hting is BIG!

Apparently it even contains every monster in the Monster Manual.

Size isn't everything.
How exactly is this dungeon written?
Is it a seemingly random assortment of rooms and monsters?
Is it leveled so as to allow players to gain experience as they progress?

Perhaps more importantly, is there significant effort devoted to ecology? Are these monsters thrown together? Is there a lame mechanism binding them together - ex: a wizard's zoo?
Or does each encounter have a clearly defined purpose for being inside this dungeon so that their presence makes sense.

Well, the amazon site said that they arranged the mosnters into "logical ecologies and new diabolical hierarchies" so it sounds like they put some thought into it.

Amazon also says there is some 900,000 words of text, that would make it a nightmare to read through before running it
