Actually I do have a question, but it relates to the poll.

Who cast the extra vote for 'Story'?. All of the options had been at 3,3,3 for several days...:?

Your heart turns to stone
She comes at night when you are all alone
And when she whispers
Your blood shall run cold
You better hide before she finds you"

I assume someone who just found the poll :D
It will be open for some time to come. Right now modules are way in the lead, then secret societies, then NPCs. (andrew voted for NPC before he saw 'view results') lol

A story module will still present secret societies and NPCs in due course. This poll is to find out what you guys want most, so we know where to put the most emphasis.

Hmm...it's a pity we can't vote twice. I was really hoping for 'Secret Societies'. Oh well, maybe some other posters will surprise me...

Thank you for your submission Malken/Ezekiel.
All submissions save the Captain Marlbrot tavern have been added for Darkon. (The only reason the tavern would not be added is players will be in Martira Bay in 703BC, not 714BC).

If you want Amity Felis to be skulking around Martira Bay as a very young thief just starting out in 703BC, let me know.

With your permission, I'd like to post some of your submissions as examples for others. They were perfectly suited for our needs. Also, anyone submitting- if you have a personal favorite of your NPCs let us know and that will be the one we try to work in above all else if there are space restrictions.

To put it simply, I'd like to see some new NPCs. One can't get enough of them.

NPCs
Today we are working on those that live in the small Hamlet of Varthine, Darkon.
This little known settlement, that doesn't even show up on most maps is now mostly complete. Van Ritchen encountered his first werewolf there.

I'm drawing up sketches of the Reeve's Manse for the developers.
The town, including the serfs who work in the vineyards number about 100. Its chief export is Brandy.
Those south of the manse subside mostly by raising sheep or a few crops.
There are two or 3 families that fish. The eroding coast has formed a small fjord that stretches many miles inland.
The richest members (besides the Reeve of course) are the cooper and his family who make all the kegs, the blacksmith and the Inn and tavern owner also rank up there as pretty successful.

All the Druids and members of Forfarmax, Forlorn are done too. We have drawn up family trees for the blood lines like those found in the realm of terror. We are punching out the population of Martira Bay now. The plot NPCs are done now we are working on the common people, the colorful characters and the politicians.
Many of the predominant Gnomes and all the halflings of Mayvin are complete as well.
It's getting there. Beleive it or not we will have something to give out soon.

Here are some shots of what we are doing for the ruins- for the city and for Castle Forfarmax in Forlorn:

Enjoy! (Well, as much as one can enjoy looking at a picture of playing and not actually playing :P)

Those are outstanding pictures, I can't wait for the whole game. Can you let me know when/if it is released? Thanks.

We are almost done with Module one now which pulls players into the Ravenloft Setting from elsewhere. There are 4 different endings depending on player choices and 8 variations on the different themes.
Part Two takes place in Martira Bay, Darkon. Where you start and your initial goals for the second module are based on what you did in the first one. After Martira players have a choice of destinations.

not mutually exclusive

groups/societies, NPC's and good stories all go together.
Perilous to us all are the devices of an art deeper than we possess ourselves.

we're still here

Post by daffy72 »

thanks for the feedback guys.
things are taking longer then expected to complete but we work on the project every day.

so where is the d20 stuff?
the first supplement will be released after chpater two. Chapter one of the video game still has not been released though.. so it will be a while. Have no fear though, much work for chapter 2 has been getting done along with the stuff for our first release.

we will be making a big announcement soon for ravenloft video game stuff. you will definatly see something 'close to home' by the end of January for NWCon 3. I'll elaborate on this soon.

Members of my team are also in closed discussions at the moment concerning professional video game development. If/when things are finalized i'll be prepared to make an announcement about this further.

As you can imagine, these things cut into the development time for the Ravenloft: Involution video game and d20 project but we ARE still working on it. I just wanted to post something so y'all don't think we disappeared on you.

thanks again and please keep feedback coming.

There is plenty of NPCs and choices for PC development (prestige classes and other whatnot). The only thing I'd like to see more of is setting/background stories. I'd even like to contribute if it isn't too late. I don't have anything at the moment, but if there is plenty of time, I could write up a short story or three.
"I am Frukathka, emissary of the Rakastan pantheon and defender of the Rakastan people and felines everywhere."
