Impressing! It is a very nice trap.
While the name Vecna could make most 5-7th level players quirk an eybrow and believe they are 1.overmatched by the traps that they will encounter 2. the local bard has drunk too much wine and a 12th - 13th level party will have the means to find the truth (legend lore etc)
The arm of Kleidon the Brave "well-known" for its abilities to bring strength of 10 men to the brave one that would find the courage to cut off his arm and replace it will probably do the trick for a mid level party.

Also the DPowers have a way to make the expectations of people come true but in a way they never expected or wanted.

But the fun of a fighter pressing a mummified arm on his bloody stamp spelling the incantations and . . . nothing is better than the alternative.
