Barovia's planar origin hasn't been established, either. It's unlikely to have been Faerun or Mystara -- they're much too magic-heavy -- and Krynn's tightly-defined pantheon doesn't include any place for Andral (Barovia's original sun god), but Oerth is marginally possible. More likely, though, Strahd came from a world that was never published as a game setting ... a possibility that was deliberately left open by the Kargat, since it preserves more of Barovia's mystery if we know little about the Von Zarovich homeworld.Orang Santu wrote:Was Mordent's Material Plane the same one Barovia came from?
Barovia's definitely not from Gothic Earth, as it was never Christian like the equivalent Slavic nations.
