You've both got a point. Maybe 10-20 years from now I'll go looking for them like I am now for things 20-30+ years old. Like Gonz stated I planned on getting all three. I already purchased the Limited Edition version, and the B&G Silver Edition, but I have yet to get the regular cover. I figure that will be the easiest version to acquire. And that Legendary Edition...I really don't need it, but I need it. I just hope by the time I can get it it's still available because I would hate to have purchase it second hand, COMPLETE, and most likely hundreds of dollars more than it already is.

Well the ring doesn't match the desription of two snakes interwined holding a black stone in their teeth as I recall if I am not mistaken...

Oh, so the PREORDER opened today. That makes exponentially greater sense. Apologies for misinterpreting.

Not precisely, but close enough.... Looking forward to finally getting my rightful ring. :)

Resonant Curse I think meant to post this as a reply, not a "report"...

ish?

Zilfer volunteered to set one up, but I don't know if it got any traction:

The link appears to be dead.

Yeah initial link only lasted 1 week, I've fixed it in my signature forgot I had made a topic about it. Currently sitting at about 21 members, if any of the mods from FoS let me know what their discord is if they ever sign up for one I can assign them admin powers / an identifier.
There's always something to lose.

Not shilling for B&G, just want to make sure I'm not spreading false info here. The T-Shirt is for pre-orders until TODAY only. So if you want the shirt, don't wait to pre-order....

Arrived today!

Don't have the time for a full unboxing with photos etc. I'm sure someone will step up with that eventually. Just a quick run-down on what's in the box:

The aforementioned ring - it's supposedly a Ring of Osybus, but I'm calling it an FoS ring, and no one can stop me. :)
An Amulet of the Raven - they admit it has no specific connection to the text, but give a few ideas for how to use it, and it does look cool.
A planchette and the spirit board. The Planchette is really beautiful, with a big magnifying glass in the middle. A shame that the spirit board is printed on flimsy poster paper and creased. I would have preferred if it was rolled or something, and better yet, on the thick vinyl paper of the CoS Legendary Edition maps.

four bonus encounters in four different domains

Battle maps for the full House of Lament adventure and the bonus encounters.

8x11ish domain maps - enlarged versions of the ones in the book.

The book itself, broken into 4 softcovers (chapter 1/2, 3, 4, & 5)

40 encounter cards, mostly monsters from the book and stuff from the bonus encounters. 2 with new art by Claudio Pozas.

Handouts from the House of Lament and the bonus encounters (wine labels, a note, a deeds, a will, a ledger, and a death certificate) All nicely "aged". two of them rolled and tied with twine.

Art cards of art from the book.

6 bonus art cards with new art by Claudio Pozas and Shen Fei. (2 from HoL, 4 from the Bonus encounters)

4 pre-gen characters using the new rules from the book.

All in all, a very nice version. I'm a sucker for the artifacts in particular. And I am more likely to run the HoLament in my campaign than a full-blown Curse of Strahd, so it's more likely to be fully used. I'm sad there's no new portrait-style art for the new NPCs and NPCs whose physical look has been changed. I was definitely hoping for that. :(

What size is the box, compared to their CoS version?

Yes no one can...

but for me it is unfortunate that they designed a Ring of Osybus a "historical" figure that messes up Strahd's story as it was written before 5e and defies the Dark Powers. I would prefer a FoS ring since the society exists since the 2nd edition.

To tell you the truth it is better that it is not a FoS ring cause the skull would be a giveaway for members of the Fraternity to adventurers.

Identical in height and width, slightly less deep. (3" vs. 3.75") Fits nicely together on the shelf. :)
