Back to Basics Chapter 1: Where are we ?

Dalorna, fearful of something creeping up behind the party, looks to the rear.

A chipmunk! How cute!

When looking at the "cute" chipmunk Dalorna see's that the chipmunk seems to look past her, then as she watches it's eyes widen in terror then disappears from her sight to hide completely from her .

[BigBadQDaddy]

"Up ahead, In the tree. Looks like a giant spider spinning a web in our path." The Professor says to the others in a somewhat rational but tense voice."Be ready. I believe it means us harm."

''Spider?''

Dalorna look to the front.

[kintire]

Alia blinks and looks puzzled, trying to pick out a spider in the foliage, but lifts and spans her crossbow, dropping a bolt into the groove

"I fear my poor eyes cannot distinguish any such creature. Where is it exactly?"

She seem to be checking the foliage quite close. Her idea of "Giant" spiders runs to about a foot across...

[BigBadQDaddy]

The Professor points to the tree ahead where the spider is perched. "You can see it right there. Honestly the creature is so big that I can't fathom how you could miss it. Though it has kind of twig-like appendages. Absolutely amazing how such a creature could get so large in this environment. I wouldn't be surprised to find large prey caught in it's web. Perhaps a goblin or two like the ones we fell the other day. Best to prepare a defense. Any suggestions from some of our more tactical counterparts?"

''Why don't we avoid it? Can we ride around, maybe use another trail?"

[VAN]

Sara tries to spot the spider one more time. Her guns are at her hands and is ready to shoot if necessary.

"We can try to avoid it, but I'm afraid it may follow us."

[ewancummins]

''Well, we can keep a lookout for it. I don't see a reason to attack the spider, so long as it leaves us alone. "

[Lord Skybolt]

Al on seeing the spider that Huln pointed out when he looks up . On seeing it moves to the rear of the party looking to the "hero's" to see what they are going to to do . But just before he does that he raising his voice sightly saying:"So that is where that huge web came from !!!" pointing it out to the party . As they see the where he is pointing they notice the translucent webbing that are across there path and hanging between the trees the party would have to go through if they kept following the direction the group is currently going in .

Arnulf says on seeing the spider and the webbing that people in the party have pointed out :"Come on it is just one spider we can take !!!"

[BigBadQDaddy]

"It is rarely a good idea to rush into battle, my young friend. Consider the possible dangers that may lay ahead within the cave. Conserving our resources in the face of our true goals would serve us better than the little to no glory to be gained by defeating this creature."

[ewancummins]

''Yes, well said, Professor. Let's move around the webs and avoid the spiders. "

[VAN]

Sara points both spiders in case someone of the group hasn't seen them.

"Actually are 2 spiders so if we decide to avoid them better do it now before they come closer. If we chose to fight I will hide and shoot. I have noticed I deal more damage if I'm hidden because the enemy cannot see me and cannot ovoid the bulets that easily."

Dalorna moves away from the spiders...
