Looking about, Dorgio sees a telltale shimmer of magic from Jon's silver knife, Alain's boots, and...
from out of a small hole in the wainscotting, over by Benn's new seat! It looks like a mouse-hole.

Delight is to him- a far, far upward, and inward delight- who against the proud gods and commodores of this earth, ever stands forth his own inexorable self.

"Alain, your boots, and Jon, that dagger, they are all holding some enchantment. Were either of you aware?"
And then something catches his eye. "Benn! There is something near you, in that ridged wall," he says, not knowing the proper term for it in Mordentish. Then, his dagger is out and in his hand as he approaches the source, the tip carefully pointing towards the glow.

Dorgio spots movement-the source of the glow is moving deeper into the hole. If he's fast, maybe he can catch whatever it is!

Dorgio drops to the floor and shoves his hand into the hole - it's just wide enough for him to squeeze his hand inside. He feels something moves across his fingertips, and grabs it quickly, before it can escape. He's able to pull his closed hand through without letting go, though he does accidentally tear away a section of the wainscotting in doing so.
The priest has the tiny thing firmly in his grip, its form concealed by the fingers of his closed hand. Whatever it is, it feels fragile and dry- also cool to the touch. It's also moving.....

He quickly sheathes the blade with his free hand and then moves the free hand over the one holding the decidedly unsettling quarry. With both hands cupping the thing, he moves closer to a light source, then parts his index and middle fingers, just a crack, to get a look at the thing.

Dorgio opens his hand just enough to reveal what he holds- a tiny , dessicated skeleton, the remains of some small animal:

No sooner than Dorgio relaxes his grip a bit so that he can have a look, the skeletal critter blurs into motion- squeezing through the gap and running up Dorgio's open sleeve and into his tunic!

Jonathan also appears shocked by Cirdans deep scary voice. He moves towards Norzak.
He looks at the thing in Dorgios hand.
His mind races to the Night Thing he and the girls had hunted in Darkon. That man was a archivist, like Benn, and he had animal skeletons that could spy on them. Those had been birds though...
"Be careful Dorgio, it may try to burrow into your hand."
Jonathan notices suddenly that he feels very warm in his chest. Thinking it was the food the boy rubbed his stomach, but then touched his face, pleased by the sensation. small hairs all over his body stood on end. A large smile crosses the boys face. To Dorgio, the boy almost looks like he is in the throes of ecstasy.

"Seven Seals...Seven Rings...Seven Brides for the Scarlet King..."
Bennedict peers eagerly at the rodent skeleton, before the creature springs to life and hides under the cleric's shirt. His eyes widen in alarm, especially at Jon's exclamation. Thinking quickly, he bolts forward and casts his spell of Sanctuary upon Dorgio.
"It should be unable to attack him," the archivist shouts, "Watch for it to come out! Try to take it alive if you can!"

The stalwart cleric shrieks like an absconded-with debutante and takes a few instinctive steps back. He raises his hand to swat at the thing, but then Benn's words catch him. Instead, he tries to cup it in in one of his hands, to trap the vile little thing between his hand and his chest, hoping that Benn cast the spell Dorgio thought he had.
All the while, his lip is curled back.

Norzak grabs dives to the ground as the door crashes in. He tumbles towards Denys and crouches, dagger in hand. He is about to throw it when he hears Cirdan. Cursing in Dwarvish, he sheathes his dagger and helps Mr Sancerre to his feet. "You okay, sir?" Then he turns his attention to Dorgio, Benn and the skeletal beast.
