I don't get my hopes too high after I saw that originally giants were in the books. If I'm wrong, I'll be pleasantly surprised not disappointed. :)
But, After Elemental evil and Spider Queen, Giant kings are the next logical step IMO.
Then, we get the slave lords and then probably Ravenloft. ;)
But really, it's not the right time yet IMO. It's been too soon since the 4E one.
(And I would guess it would be followed by one with the Githyanki, Githzerai, multiverse etc).

Anyway, since Out of the Abyss was Aline in Wonderland and the next adventure was hinted to be giant\Shakespeare mix... it seems that a pattern forms. Outside of Gygaxian ecology we seem to get a overlying theme. Madness and wonder in Out of the Abyss. Deception and ambition (at least as described, haven't read it) in Elemental Evil.
So, we're CERTAINLY getting gothic theme on Ravenloft, Deep, pervasive gothic theme when Ravenloft gets to the spotlight!

:lucas: Hijacking this one!

Here I was, looking for the annual state of the union update. - So, this is the great news of the year? Or, is there anything else going on in the Land of Mists that could be worth a look? Fan projects, or perhaps even new stuff by the old authors, maybe?

Worlds of Ravenloft continues on Midway Haven Observatory. After Asian, Spanish colonial and remote influences, this year's theme (hint) is:

My Ravenloft Reincarnated: The Savage World of Ravenloft project just dropped on the Fraternity recently, and I'm getting ready to submit the first mini-supplement for it, Power of the Tarot. I also plan on doing cluster and island gazetteers every couple of months.

Ravenloft or not, these images are nice. I like that art style. I missed it in post-2E era with the computer graphics.

Look at the one with the younger woman. Blood on her collar, puncture wound on her neck, and the tapestry behind looks like a fanged mouth. Ravenloft or not, looks like a vampire story.
But the name of the picture is "innocence" which is a tarokka card (and "tarokka" is even name dropped in the Escapist article).
Not much but its all pointing to Ravenloft far more than Giants.

At this time certainly. But since those Ravenloftish pictures, hope entered my dormant heart. If it's NOT Ravenloft I will be disappointed. I will be very disappointed!
