I bought a set this Christmas from Atari with all games in 4 DVDs, I guess. It cost me 10£, so if you can still find them on Amazon you might make a good deal.

On the off chance you have a Mac, I have a copy i'm willing to part with (the original Balder's Gate for Mac should work in OS 8.6 to OS 9.2 as well as OS X). Drop a PM if you're interested.

The Grind design has often been employed by game designers who often feel that more time at play = greater enjoyment, and thus increase the leveling requirements just to make gameplay last longer. (Yeah, imagine what brilliant bean counter came up with THAT idea)
