Van Richten's Arsenal is brilliant

Post by Kane »

Just finished reading Van Richten's Arsenal and I enjoyed every minute of it. That book is the example of how a crunch book should be written. One thing I would like to know is how they found all of their quotes from english literature, some were very obsqure.

Not sure about the quotes.

But, VRA is a book I keep coming back to for ideas, story hooks, etc.

It is, IMHO, in a league of its own really.

Actually, my only complaint with it is that it needs an Alchemy expansion. I LOOOOVE ALCHEMY.

VRA is without a doubt one of the finest roleplay sourcebooks ever to grace us with its presence. I've used it alot in the past myself, mostly to draw ideas from and adapt the existing info found within :)

Not to mention that I liked the way VRA was written, each chapter "contributed" by a different NPC some with their own agenda.

That was a brilliant idea. It basically turns what is otherwise an item/class supplement into a roll call of notable NPCs, all integrated seamlessly and elegantly into the text proper.

It was brilliant. Worth every wolf fang and then some.

Hmm, barter system... animal relics...

Are you from a CL1 domain perchance? I've got some beads (of force) and amulets (of nondetection) to trade for some skins and furs.

Don't quote me on this, but a wolf fang is a copper piece in Barovia.
