Curses, and Greetings.

Post by Scarycount »

I read in Gaz3 that "get below" is a common curse in Richemulot.
I also read in Gaz4 that "the sun rises/sets" is a common hello/goodbye in Sithicus. I thought "why shouldn't all domains have these?" IMHO only the pretty exotic domains need their own greetings, but every domain should have unique curses.

here are some ideas:

Lupe=Verbrek curse (Noun)
Round One=G'henna curse (Noun)
"verb"ing ("noun", or "verb"er)=Forlorn curse (Noun) (that was a joke)

Bloody Vulchar - a Falkovian curse, equivalent to "Hell," "Damn", commonly used by survivors of the Dead Man's Campaigns
By the Mists - an oath/curse equivalent to "by God" used by Mordentish seafarers
By Erza - an oath/curse common among Erzites and especially those at sea

Lifted from brothersale and the proverb list: http://www.fraternityofshadows.com/foru ... highlight=

Someday = used as a farewell by the Gundarakites. It is a unsaid sentence, one in it full form is: Someday, we will be free

VRGVistani has a traditional vistani farewell: endari-vitir (All paths converge)
"We're realistic heroes. We're not here to save the world, just nudge the world into a better place."

How about,

"By the Form!"--Paridoner exclamation/curse
"By the Mists" is a good one, and I'll bet some variation of it would be common anywhere in Ravenloft.
"Moonbound"--A derisive term used by wolfweres (and other therianthropes) for lycanthropes

Why is "by Ezra" used especially by those at sea?
