I paid 50p at a car boot sale, but the map was missing :(

Still, I can't complain, lol.

Always good to see a new member interested in the setting. Welcome aboard.

Personally I really liked the new book. I had no problems understanding the rules and the advice it gives to fledgling DMs at the back is really well thought out and precise.

I'm not saying there weren't editing problems though.

For more information check out the 'Reviews' section of this site.

And the page count is 224 to 287 so you get a full 63 pages more in the 3E version. Plus 96 of the boxed set's pages are adventures. Three! That's pretty sizable when they couldn't find the room to squeeze in a single qabal. All the world and extra information had to be published in a second suplement (Gothic Earth Gazetteer).
Agreed, but as I said before, information included in a product is a matter of personal taste. (of course if no information is in.....)
Maybe we can open a thread about things you want to see in a Ravenloft product. Information? Good quality? Price? All? None? What things you like/miss in the old/new products?

What do you think?

Sorry Robin for stealing your thread

I've never managed to track down the Guide to Transylvania of the GE Gaz, or at least not at a price I could afford.

Probably doesn't make you feel better then when I say my games store has always had a few copies sitting around still in their original wrapping. :P Same with Carnival, it was several years since I got around to buying it.

As I remember it, the map wasn't anything to write home about anyways. Pretty much just a map of the world circa 1890 with some of the major cities highlighted, political boundaries, etc.

Check out this page, they have a lot of ESD to sell from Vintage RL:
Definitely.

You may also want to get Ncky Rea's *Guide to Transylvania, a superb 2e setting book. (Actually one of my absolute favourites!)

:)

BTW, welcome aboard, Robin.

Broom closet on your right as you enter the manor, all the stocked up supplies (pitchforks, scythes, sickles, torches to burn, lanterns, small casks of oil, more angry mob-based equipment) for the WW storming is to be placed there before the event. Drusilla will hand oyu a ticket for what you deposit and it shall be kept safe (for instance, she does not have access to at least 1 key in the manor and it's THAT key).

So, my strange dream of standing in one line with you, Socko, and *The Bald One*, riding on undead mounts with scythes in our hands, in front of an army of hedge-witches, Drusilla puppies and dread oozes will finally become reality?

But please, can we wait until they shipped me my Wilderlands Box? - I fear it might be damaged when ScS confronts the proofreader of the new MotRD...

And then:

Please, come this way, friend, we’ve been expecting you. Leave that coat on the hook and step this way. What’s that you say? Beset by small mad-looking puppies from the cleft of dimensions? Oh yes, those playful critters do like to chase things. Don’t worry; I’m sure your friends will turn up. Eventually.

What’s that, now? You fled a fire? White Wolf Company building? Yes, we have heard of that. Such a tragedy...

Oh, and I almost forgot. Don’t wander the halls alone.

Why?

Oh, no reason

An army of hedge witches??? Are you insane!!! there is a reason why us hedge witches work alone, we don;t get on to well in parge groups, we start arguing far to much about our beliefs, lol.

On the other hand, if Dru is kind enough, she may loan us an army of paper dollie golems ;)

Well, I was a bit undecided between *assault a company building* and *conquer the world*... :time to take medication:

My goal is nothing short of world domination, so you can go for the WW headquarters all you like. I even have my own resistance movement set up and everything :) lol.

But still... back to the topic at hand now...
