I want to stress that I'm not shilling for these guys: I backed the Kickstarter, but am otherwise completely unaffiliated. I'm also linking to the KS page here so you can catch up with the opinions of other folks:
A bunch of kids (a kid, to this old man, is everyone under 30) started a Ravenloft live play podcast a few years ago, and ended up writing their own, extremely Ravenloft-esque setting based on it.
(Have only listened to bits of it.)
PDFs released last year, physical books 'n boxes arrived yesterday, and it's -- lovely, just very lovely. A labor of love. Not on the level of the Books of S--, not on the level of some of the very astute 2e stuff -- and let me say, not by a mile.
...But a fun, intellectually honest, and deeply charming adventure path for 5e that's not just the umpteenth redux of either "House of Strahd" or FR's "The Night Gallery". I've continued to keep tab on D&D-style horror in recent years; with the possible exception of Symbaroum, and of the much cozier and family-friendly Zamanora, this is legit some of the best stuff I've seen since "Shadow of the Demon Lord" first hit the shelves a decade ago.
Didn't have this on my bingo card, at all, especially since the Kickstarter had some real hickups along the way. Difficult to think that I now won't use this one along the way, though: It's of course not Ravenloft, it's of course not Gothic Earth - but probably as close as you can get to the original without writing directly for the DMsG.
What are your thoughts? Anyone else into this?
