Farewell to the Flesh
Farewell to the Flesh
Hi,
I read on this site (and others) about this RPGA adventure from 1999 Farewell to the Flesh. Couldn't find it anywhere, though.
Is it for sale/download somewhere? Does anyone have it? Sounds like an awesome module to run..
Best

Re: Farewell to the Flesh
It is extremely rare and and not, to my knowledge, available to download. I do have it, and can answer questions about it, but can't share it in full.

Re: Farewell to the Flesh
Interesting title. What is the adventure about? What version is it?

It was written by John Mangrum, in the 90s, 2nd edition. Contents:
Strahd is upset over the Carnival coming and going as it pleases through his land and sets a trap for it. The Wethermay-Foxgrove Twins and allies on the trail of the Night Swarm get caught up in it.

Re: Farewell to the Flesh
That sounds more intriguing. Strahd, the Carnival and the twins.

Exactly, that's why it's so frustrating that it's nowhere to be found or purchased..

Re: Farewell to the Flesh
The 2e era RPGA adventures have an unclear status as far as copyright goes. That is why they never were made available by WotC for download.
It's a shame!
FttF was released in 1999. An adventure for 4-6 heroes level 5.
It ends darkly

Does Mangrum still frequent the site? Can we ask HIM to tell us more about it?

Damn, really sad that it's potentially lost media. Agreed that it sounds very intriguing, what with all the different factions involved...

Last time he posted here was June of '21.
But again, feel free to ask questions, I will answer as much as I can

Very well.Gonzoron of the FoS wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 11:12 am But again, feel free to ask questions, I will answer as much as I can
Question (and I am not trolling): Can you contact Mangrum to see if he is legally able and willing to release something about that adventure, similar to the Shadow of the Knife adventure the Kargatane released back in the day?

Re: Farewell to the Flesh
To piggyback on this, would you be able to ask Mr. Mangrum about the "March of Doom" trilogy? The links to it that Mr. Mangrum had mentioned of the outline of that series of adventure aren't really accessible anymore (here's where they were before): https://www.fraternityofshadows.com/for ... oom#p78407. The Wayback Machine can't access them so it would be a real shame if all of those ideas were to disappear in the digital void somehow.alhoon wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 3:51 pmVery well.Gonzoron of the FoS wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 11:12 am But again, feel free to ask questions, I will answer as much as I can

I apologize if this is imposing on your or Mr. Mangrum's time by the way, I mean no disrespect!

Re: Farewell to the Flesh
I don't have any particular "in" with Mangrum, or any way to contact him other than sending a PM on this forum or an email to the address he registered with here. Both are available from his user profile page here:

The only direct contact I've ever had with him was asking permission to use his 3e petrification virus stats in my Demise writeup once upon a time, and his response was not much more than "sure" .
