Anyone give any thoughts to making a Discord?

Figured i'd ask as I'm not sure it had ever been brought up before, I know there may be some elder skeleton's here that may not have used or engaged with it before. I had wondered if such a thing might breathe a bit more life or quicker responses/discussions about topics here.

Personally, I find discord to be a bit of information overload. I like the more sedate pace and permanent feeling of a forum. But then, I am admittedly an old fogey.

If you want to make one, by all means go ahead. Only way to see if people would use it is to start it.

/r/CurseofStrahd and /r/Ravenloft on reddit have them, but I cannot speak to the moderation quality or activity as I have not been to either.

Thanks Mischief, I'll definitely check it out on those. I made a temporary one myself but I haven't had time to make channels and the like. I figured Ron's sentiment and then Joel's here may have been the same. Like both of you two, I have been both hesitant to join Reddit and then Discord as acclimatizing to the format is disorienting at first for sure.

If I get some free time I'll try and spruce up the Discord a bit and post it here and see if it gets any traction. I've actually even played a few games on Discord much like the forum here, but I was looking to possibly make it more of a discussion zone. Also I still like forums do to their more permanent feel and easy time looking up old conversations from years ago. From all those old Liches that sometimes gather around a fire to tell sorts of old yore.

Alright sorry for the delay I plugged away on this between work hours and the like just to get a basic skeleton. Suggestions are of course welcome and I put up some rather basic rules and information already.

For anyone interested here is the invitation link that should take you straight to the rules and info page. Anyone with more discord knowledge than me is free to DM me and suggest things. I left a specific role open for Cafe De Nuit Forum Mods/Admins so that if you guys end up showing up on it that I can give you permissions to move things, add, and remove things as well.

Edit1: Tomorrow I'll go ahead, and post this in the main general area so it has more visibility than the rarely checked rules and troubleshooting area. For now i'll let my recharge.


Edit 2: I'll also mention I did snag the r/fraternityofshadows on reddit as well in case that was ever wanted. (I doubted it because it's a different kind of message board really but figured I'd reserve it in case anything ever changes in the future, figured i'd mention that here even though I did that 3 years ago)
