Delight is to him- a far, far upward, and inward delight- who against the proud gods and commodores of this earth, ever stands forth his own inexorable self.

Any chance Meela would recognize the significance of the drums?

Well, that is obviously good enough!
The drums sound like a signal used by some lizardmen to call allies/friends to a feast, and also music to celebrate a victory.
It suggests the reptiles are agitated and hungry.

Any chance they heard me shouting?
(Apologies for my intermittent appearances; I was ill for a bit and am working through my final month before switching to a new job.)

If Clive is informed that there is some in danger at the camp, he will charge in to slay the beasts!
History prefers legends to men. It prefers nobility to brutality, soaring speeches to quiet deeds. History remembers the battle and forgets the blood. What ever history remembers of me if it remembers me at all, it shall only be the fraction of the truth.
