If the book is a spellbook, I have read magic prepared.

It is!

As my edit shows, I have now cast it. It will be up for the next 50 minutes.

OKAY...
KAT, BENN, and ALAIN may return to the Grim Bastion and find their way back down into the cellars and the portal chamber, whenever the players of those PCs all catch up reading and are ready to post.
They are not on scene until then.
Feel free to insert RP or actions while in the Ghost Streets, on the way back.
If they plan on doing something besides heading straight back in, let me know.

Petrified rope of stone has hardness 8 and 15 hp.
My Use Rope modifier is only +1, so I hope wrapping someone like a mummy is simple enough. Can I take 10?

Has Raen noticed the spellbook?

Sure.
I see we cross-posted as you were editing.
Do you want me to leave the short 'investigates the hall' segment up?

Yeap, wouldn't change much. I'll edit my post Our quarry is going for the Eyes, right?
Is that corpse from the guards or older? Search check perhaps?

He would have shown severe interest in the spellbook, which I will now rectify.

The bird was picking at a corpse from the guards/thugs/whoever those guys were. Human. Appears to be a victim of the party. Or of the warlock's icestorm.alhoon wrote:Yeap, wouldn't change much. I'll edit my post Our quarry is going for the Eyes, right?

RE INCANTATION
Is the party going to:
1 Try tonight, before refreshing spells (including skill boosting magic that will increase odds of success)
2 Attempt it now, accepting greater possibility of failure in return for chance to close the portal sooner and thus not leave it open (though physically blocked by stuff piled over it) all night
3 not do it/delay longer than a night
4 other plan?

Considering the rest of the group has returned, I will go and provide aid to Dorgio.
History prefers legends to men. It prefers nobility to brutality, soaring speeches to quiet deeds. History remembers the battle and forgets the blood. What ever history remembers of me if it remembers me at all, it shall only be the fraction of the truth.

Re: RAVENLOFT: The One That Got Away OOC
Cool.
We can handle decisions whatever way you guys like
Benn could just try the ritual now, provided he can get two other casters (PC or NPC. Spell ability isn't required--but one of the three must have Knowledge: Arcana skill).
You guys can do an in-game discussion, RPing with posts back and forth.
You can metagame the discussion here. That is perfectly acceptable.
