Oh, that's definitely a success.

Is there any secondary entrance to the palace? I suggest we get Carillon from there so we avoid everyone to see him. Less people know that we captured him the merer.

Sure, there's a postern gate.

Of course, taking Duke Carilon through it would let at least one Alamien know its exact location. Then again, maybe he already knows?

Your call.

EDIT, That's to get inside the walls of Caer Haes.

If you mean the Ducal Palace only (it's built within the castle walls, but the palace is not the whole castle complex), you could use a servant's entrance.

The castle gate guards would still see you come in with Duke Carilon, in that case, but it's possible that some courtiers and other folks at the palace might not see you.

Who is the Alamien that will know CArillon's exact location?

No, I meant that using a secret way into Caer Haes would let Duke Carilon (an Alamien) know about said secret way. Unless he already knows...

I'm going out for a bit, I will check for updates later. Filbert doesn't trust Carillon and will try to be with him everytime so he makes sure he doesn't try to escape or any spy tries to free him. But that been said he will make sure he will have a fair treatment in a room with possible only the party members as guards or if that isn't possible with any trusted guards he knows. Then he will wait the Archprelate for orders and will try of course to keep secret that the Duke is there.

The face we have Carlion is going to come out and I'm not sure if it's a good idea to try and keep it secret. Roald would rather go through the front gates and inform Sir Rory. He would also make a point of making sure there weren't any torches or other open sources of fire that Carlion could use to summon his pet.

Edit: Considering that Carlion can summon fire fire elementals from open flames, Roald would want to keep him somewhere with no open sources of fire. And perhaps also damp.

Yes good idea a dry place with no torches or other fire sources.

And obviously we will inform Sir Rory and the Archprelate, just I don't want many people to know about it because of the spies. And the location where we have Carillon should remain secret as well if possible.

By damp I mean wet, Van. Like as close to the castle's water cisterns as practical.

You are going to provide him with wet dames?

I corrected that spelling error. However, I would like to point out that Roald is the result of a Duke and a wet dame, so at least my errors are applicable.

Safana was able to cast spider climb, but not before the dogs scented her.

Kintire has given me PM instructions about another spell.

I'll do a surprise check to see if the hounds (much better hearing than humans, and would be sensitive to a voice coming from thin air along with the smell of a woman) or even the men hear her casting.

The dogs may hear her, but that doesn't immediately give away her exact position. It does help.

Init between her and the Alamien searchers-

Simultaneous.

Note that the spell will cover her tracks, Kintire, but she'll need to scoot up the wall first and then cast it. It is maintained by concentration. If you'd have cast a different spell, given that knowledge, we can edit.
VIEW CONTENT:
Phantasmal Force (Illusion/Phantasm): ... This spell creates the illusion of any object, creature, or force, as long as it is within the boundaries of the spell's area of effect. The illusion is visual and affects all believing creatures (undead are immune) that view it. It does not create sound, smell, or temperature. Effects that depend on these senses usually fail. The illusion lasts until struck by an opponent--unless the spellcaster causes the illusion to react appropriately--or until the wizard ceases concentration upon the spell (due to desire, moving, or a successful attack that causes damage). Saving throws for illusions are explained under "Illusions" in Chapter 7: Magic and under "Adjudicating Illusions" at the beginning of Appendix 2. Creatures that disbelieve the illusion see it for what it is and add +4 to associates' saving throws if this knowledge can be communicated effectively. Creatures believing the illusion are subject to its effects (again, as explained in Chapter 7). The illusionary effect can be moved by the caster within the limits of the area of effect. The DM has to rule on the effectiveness of this spell; detailed guidelines are outlined in Chapter 7: Magic and under "Adjudicating Illusions" at the beginning of Appendix 2. The material component of the spell is a bit of fleece. [2E PHB]

In any event, the men and dogs will close and feel/grab or sniff and bite.
Penalties for invisible opponent apply, natch.

The hounds may not be fooled.

I'll give them a save.

IF they make it, then they will alert the men by baying and scratching at the base of the wall, possibly in time to show the tracks just as they vanish.
