Open Locks Filbert

After actually talking with Skybolt, I now have Gunnar's actions.

Proceeding with combat...

Party charges through Alamien ranks, trying to cut its way into the keep (rather than stay in the bailey, menaced by crossbowmen on the walls and outnumbered by swordsmen on the ground).

Gunnar will fight two weapon style, dagger in one hand, sword in the other, as per specific LSB instructions.

Three melee attacks on each PC, plus two bolts aimed at each PC (with usual firing into melee penalities, and any 1s auto hit an Alamien)

melee with swords-

vs Gunnar
[dice]0[/dice]

[dice]1[/dice]

[dice]2[/dice]

vs Foerde

[dice]3[/dice]

[dice]4[/dice]

[dice]5[/dice]

vs Roald

[dice]6[/dice]

[dice]7[/dice]

[dice]8[/dice]

bolts-

v Gunnar
[dice]9[/dice]

[dice]10[/dice]
v Foerde

[dice]11[/dice]

[dice]12[/dice]

v Roald

[dice]13[/dice][dice]14[/dice]
These are heavy crossbows at fairly close range, so AC is adjusted as per the usual BR rules. But the shooters suffer a big penalty for firing into melee.

Foerde takes a couple of hits, one which might be a crit.

Checking for crit...

[dice]0[/dice]

Not a crit.

He takes 2d8 total damage

[dice]1[/dice]

11 points, Mike. Note it on your sheet/scrap paper.

No bolts hit anybody.

There may be a fumbled blow on Gunnar. Checking DEX of 10...

Guy loses his weapon attacking Gunnar. Gunnar gets free hasty sword blow at him.

[dice]0[/dice]

Miss, but scares the guy into getting the heck out of the armored giant's path!

Party dashes into keep before the door can be shut.

ROUND EIGHT

Party may attempt to close and bar door, but will have to deal with six guards inside keep.

Foerde bars/wedges the door while Gunnar and Roald fight.

Three men in brigandine, armed with heavy cudgels, versus Gunnar and Roald. Alamiens use wolfpack tactics.

Men outside try to pull door open to prevent Foerde from closing and bbarring it. If they succeed, they may get in the mix next round.

First we do init

PCs

Simultaneous

This should be interesting.

Opposed STR check of Foerde (with 18 STR from bloodline spell effect) versus combined STr of several guards (18 STR, effective).

If both sides roll 18 0r less, lowest D20 roll wins.

Foerde[dice]0[/dice]

Guard force their way in-- but not until the end of the round.

That means Gunnar and Roald are only fight three apiece this round.

Attacks increase for both men, spec multi attack

Gunnar

[dice]0[/dice]

[dice]1[/dice][dice]2[/dice]

Gunnar drops his foes.

Now Roald

ROUND NINE

MADNESS AND BLOOD

Foerde can try to hold the doorway while Gunnar and Roald battle the remaining men in the hallway.

The good news is that only two guys may attack Foerde at a time. He can't get the door closed and barred, but he can block it with cold steel and his own body.
