Tome of Magic's Shadowcaster 3.5

Post by steveflam »

I was just wondering what my fellow Fraternity members thought of this class.
I am going to play a Monk 5/Shadowcaster 4 in one of Rafael's Blackmoor games.
Any input/advice/suggestions would be welcome ;)

Thanks!

It's a interesting class at mid levels, but it takes a bit of slog to get there. It's the low number of spells you know early on, at 7th level or so things kick off. It is an entertaining class with good flavour (but you may get sick of how many synonyms their are for darkness in the spell selection :) )

Very true. I looked over the spell lists for his spell choices and some of them actually work well together.

Generally I found it a weak class when I checked it. Good for NPCs with flavor, bad for PCs. They would be better served by making it a prestige class.
