Good Sources for Research

Post by DeepShadow of FoS »

I'm writing a story set in 1910 in England, and I want to get into as much historical detail as possible. Can anyone recommend any writer's guides to this period and area?

If it makes any difference, I'm setting most of it in the resort community of Malvern Wells in England. I've found the RL website for Malvern Wells, but I want more.

The Puppeteer must cut the strings
The Orphan Queen must take the throne
The Queen of Orphans calls them home

One site that I came across that's perfect for MotrD is:

http://www.old-maps.co.uk/

(saw a MotRD DM at a con using a map from there)

There's a map of Malvern Wells there dated 1891. More useful for an RPG than a story, maybe, but might help give you an authentic sense of space.
