Don't look for it too soon. In terms of progress I'm just past the first encounter with the Proto Tyrant in the RE 0 fiction. Also I've only got the template for the T-Virus zombie done; there are literally over two or three dozen individual creatures to map out and I'd really appreciate any help. I...

To me that's too obvious. Why hide in something that sets the powers-that-be on an inquisition? The Red Death is likely the one who stoked the fires of such paranoid hate rather than the one who created the material that was being scapegoated. Indeed, in the rules I mention how horror could be more ...

And thus a fevered rush during the last days of 1999. The whole Y2K scare, fears of the Armageddon of Revelations, and other things were so high it seems almost a forgone conclusion the Red Death would try to cause something to happen--if only to instill the fear of a god into the masses once more. ...

I can see how the Red Death wouldn't like to see nuclear annihilation. But in my fiction the Red Death doesn't "hibernate" so much as it loses power when the sheep stop fearing the darkness and thus it can't work as directly as it did in ages past. This is also an explanation for the incre...

Nothing has been mentioned yet beyond the mention of the harnessing of the atom. For the most part Alexander's too skeptical to believe the USA or the USSR would dare push the Big Red Button. The two know firsthand the power of the bomb and are rightly terrified. After the fall of communism is when ...

Great ideas all, folks. But like I said: I'm too busy with the Resident Evil stuff to write up anything else right now. This is meant to be a place where you guys post stuff you've come up with. I must admit the Ghostbusters idea is really growing on me, and could be instrumental in an adventure I'm...

Eternal Darkness is one of my favorite games, actually. It was the basis for the idea that the Inquisition was, in fact, a Red Death-instituted progrom to stamp out the last bits of magical knowledge (and commit all sorts of evil besides) in Europe in the core fiction I'm writing. Obviously it didn'...

The Ghostbusters. :D A little cartoony for me, but why not? Somehow I doubt there's going to be a publicly known group of ghost hunters, though. They'd be plowed by the Red Death or discredited by it and run out of business before they could ever start. As a secret society--even if it is just the g...

Real world events like that will likely get only a cursory sentence or two in the fiction; there's just too much that the Red Death could be involved in to get into on my own. The famines are a good point; Africa is an old continent and the ancient magics there would likely pose the greatest threat ...

Gothic Earth 1998 - Reader Additions

I want to here some feedback on the idea of setting Gothic Earth not in the 1890's but the 1990's . What sorts of world events could be linked to the machinations of the Red Death? What new, modern monsters are real--like Jason Voorhees or Freddy Krueger, or someone or something else? What places in...

I'll be sure to change it to reference a courthouse across the street. For future reference, I'm not trying for 100% RL accuracy. After all, in the latest fiction 112 Ocean Ave. will follow the Amityville Horror movies (sans Amityville 2) in terms of how events linked to it play out (whether or not ...

Gah, you're right. NYC has changed so much in the past century that I can't keep track of all the changes. I'll change it to a shrine in Chinatown and a reference in some old books in one the many libraries about how the qabal cleansed the brewery--and thus left a site worthy of a shrine to benevole...

The Gothic Journals (Comments)

Since I've finally been goaded into posting here I guess I should try and keep this one separated into one pure fan fic and the other comments. Constructive criticism is always welcome.
