Re: The Walking Dead on AMC!!!
Okay, we're getting pretty far into the season now and what do people think of it? Warning, my post may contain some spoilers for episodes that have yet to air in the States and will contain spoilers for people that have not seen up to the end of episode 6 (Secrets)... We've finally seen Wiltshire E...

Since I had Gastroenteritis, my Samhain wasn't so enjoyable this year

Re: American Horror Story
I happened upon the first episode by accident on FX but not watched any more. I'm waiting for the season to finish its run, then I'll just sit down and watch the rest over a few sittings. it strikes me as a show that would annoy me if I watched it weekly. Still, I did quite enjoy the first episode, ...

Re: Magic: the Gathering's Ravenloft revealed: INNISTRAD
Just like Ravenloft... you never really quit Magic, just take some time off. :) (My time off was Nemesis through Prophecy. I don't play as often as I used to, but I try to go to a draft or sealed deck a few times a year, and I play with a friend online via Apprentice pretty often.) I've not touched...

Re: Some easter egg in RL
Yep, I've always regarded Tepest to those two works :) As for the Tepestani Inquisition, they can be drawn from countless reference points, both in fiction and real life history. Wyan's book on the fey reminds me of the Malleus Maleficarum ("Hammer of (female) Witches," the masculine/gend...

Re: The Thing (2011)
The most beautiful thing about Carpenter's The Thing was its stillness. Carpenter was able to show scenes without any characters even in the shot - just the hallways as his signature pulse-like music played. Those moments allowed the audience to think , to contemplate this dreadful situation, to le...

Re: The Thing (2011)
Consider that it's by the same guy who directed the remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street . Admittedly I never saw that one because, in my mind, Freddy is and always will be Robert Englund, but I heard similar complaints about that movie. You missed nothing with ANoES except more overly explained plo...

Re: The Walking Dead on AMC!!!
The loss of Wiltshire Estates is understandable since its inclusion would have had no real impact on the characters though, not like it had in the comic. Donna would have died, leaving Allan very depressed and put more friction in the group, but Donna, All and and the boys aren't in the show. Also, ...

Re: The Thing (2011)
The 1951 original and 1982 remake are both excellent, I'll see this one eventually, but only when I don't have to pay to see it (probably at a friends house them). In the meantime I have plenty of other things to keep me entertained that I know are much better and better ways to fill my time.

Re: The Walking Dead on AMC!!!
To answer your questions. 1. In reference to how things later play out in the comic, Rick is still at the right point to be making the decisions he is, but there are a few hints toward some decisions he will make (much) later. 2. Yes, very much so with what they uncovered as the episode went on. Sha...
