Re: D&D Next

Yep. Two aristocratic brothers raised in the same environment should have similar skills with a minor difference or two to account for the fact that one is trained as a Fighter and the other is trained as a Wizard, while a Fighter who grew up as a peasant would have a very different skill selection....

Re: D&D Next

Well, one thing which definitely appeals to me is divorcing skills from character class. I always found that incredibly constricting and wanted to see a D&D edition where they cut the ties completely. I much prefer the idea of Backgrounds or being able to choose your own skills rather than being...

Re: Pathfinder in the Mists

*sigh* I wish I could find a Ravenloft DM using Pathfinder in the Miami, FL area. :(

Re: D&D Next

I'm currently looking for a playtest group so I can try it out. I want to thoroughly vet this before I jump on the bandwagon. After all, 4E seemed promising at first, but after playing it for a while it was a mediocre experience.

I've gone and purchased Battlegrounds, which hopefully will make it easy to play online games with my old gaming group. If it works out well, then hopefully I'll be able to get a 4E Ravenloft game going on it. That'd be nice.

I'm itching to play a Ravenloft game using 4E rules. Unfortunately, I had a hard enough time finding a local Ravenloft game when it was still supported, so...

Yep. Strahd Lore A character knows the following information with a successful History check. DC 22: Before coming to rule Barovia, Strahd von Zarovich was a ruthless warlord who led great armies to war. Discontent to lead from behind his troops, Lord Strahd often charged into combat alongside his s...

Likewise, I'll start posting tomorrow. I was going to start, today, but today's so far turned into a pretty horrible day. :( I'll be in a better mood tomorrow, though.

I'm just a bit cheesed on account of my erroneous expectations for the product. But who's fault is that? It isn't WotC's, as they never gave any indication that there would be a Necromancer class in the book. Instead, they've been pretty clear on where people could expect to find new races and clas...

Here's Strahd in Open Grave. http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/Groups/137/137974/folders/296030/2382552Strahd1.jpg Hardly the best picture of him I've ever seen, but you gotta admit, that's several leagues better than THIS guy. http://216.77.188.54/coDataImages/p/Groups/137/137974/folders/296030/2...

Well this is a fine how-do-you-do. It's just a bestiary for variant undead? Back when it was first announced, I had gotten the impression that it would also incorporate rules for necromancers, expanding beyond the nerfed necromancy spells in the PH. I guess that material must have gone by the waysi...

4E Dhampyr

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/drfe/20090112 For those who aren't subscribers... Dhampyr characters are created through feats (a new classification called Bloodline feats. You can only have feats from one bloodline, no more). To be a Dhampyr you have to take the Vampiric Heritage feat at 1...
