Re: CONFIRMED: Ravenloft for 5th Edition

Well, I am definitely going to buy it, but I am scared that I won't be able to play it at all because I am working my playing group through a Ravenloft campaign using my version of the Grand Conjunction that has been running for going on four years now. Not sure how my players would feel about: &quo...

Re: New Podcast, Looking for help

So excited!

So we have finally recorded, and we have talked the shit out of Adam's Wrath. Now it is all about editing and getting posted.

I so hope that everyone on here will check it out, and please be gentle.

Re: New Podcast, Looking for help

OK, so we are about a week or two depending on recording our initial episodes. I think we will be opening with Wrath of Adam, which I ran for my current group previous to them starting the Grand Conjunction stuff. I really want to encourage folks here to 'Like' our Facebook page and follow us on Twi...

Re: Hickman hates Ravenloft?

I would be very concerned about a re-boot, as the 2nd Edition idea of a Core with a patchwork of ark realms is what kept me going back to Ravenloft. Sure, Barovia brought me to the party, but I would have left and had fond memories had the rest not been developed, and in my opinion, the 3.5 stuff is...

New Podcast, Looking for help

OK, I have been away from these boards for a little while and this is why: I have been working on launching a podcast for my New year's Resolution. Our premise is of a fictional gaming company that is doing a podcast through their Communications department. We want to focus on reviews of products an...

Re: [5e] Out of the Abyss and madness

Bold words....and I think I agree.

I6 is a classic, and with most classics, it is best understood as groundbreaking for its time, not that we have never been able to top it.

Re: [5e] Out of the Abyss and madness

Haha, I get that. I do enjoy that you are willing to adjust as necessary so you can sleep at night. And though I sometimes wonder if my players will ever notice, I know that I have usually worked out every damn bit of backstory for everyone they ever meet....or lese I couldn't stand it.

Re: [5e] Out of the Abyss and madness

I guess I can see what you are saying about the goblins. I guess I'm a little bit more narrativist than simulationist on that front then. I don't see the encounter numbers as a static situation wherein all the world needs to work through, least of all these goblins, but rather a series of rules that...

Re: [5e] Out of the Abyss and madness

Hrm. It's been a little bit since I read it, I'm trying to think about what I would have to change to run it, I'm struggling a little bit.

And this is from a person who is currently running Feat of Goblyns...now that needed a lot of work.

Re: [5e] Out of the Abyss and madness

The war of the spider queen, another classic in the underdark, by Gygax... was not even close to this one. THIS one is indeed one of the best adventures I've seen. Except of the fact that I have to make like 2 dozen generic NPCs... That could help, certainly, I am pretty comfortable running generic...

Yup, it is string on many levels, I think it is destined to become a classic.

Re: Jessica Jones: Kilgrave as a Darklord

I loved the series, and him as a villain. He is, at his heart, a cross between a sociopath and a petulant child, I think. As for his domain? I would like to think that his would be a large, metropolitan area with lots of people and a high level of technology and culture. And to most people he is com...

Re: Grand Conjunction Problems

Haha, yes, I have had the Darkonian government reach out to the Darkonian members of my group, even the Darkonian knight having it explained to him that his wife and family has been taken into protective custody. Also had the Fraternity of Shadows reach out to the mage and the rogue leader, with the...

Re: [5e] Out of the Abyss and madness

I think you should keep reading. I loved the adventure, and consider it the high water mark of all of the adventure books that have been produced for 5th Edition thus far. It is both a setting book and an adventure, in that you have great descriptions of all of these cultures and places and how to p...

Re: Ship of Horrors....Help!

OK, so I hoping that with a cache of potions of water breathing and some endure elements we can figure out the underwater piece. They are getting powerful enough that it shouldn't upset the game and if I can just throw a bunch of these potions at them to facilitate this, I would prefer that to boggi...
