Re: Game of Thrones - the TV series

The season in general, solid, if marred by some really lazy writing, especially in the second half of the season. Universal consensus is that the producers need to ramp things up next season, and I am inclined to share that opinion. I am curious as to how season 6 goes, because the brand, with the b...

Re: Penny Dreadful

The series, like many of even the high-profile productions like Game of Thrones, suffers from very short-sighted writing. It seems clear that this was thought of as a one-season affair, especially when you look at the Frankenstein's bride/Dorian Gray character arcs. But, yeah, Rory Kinnear, impressi...

Re: Penny Dreadful

Loving the second season which I follow on Netflix. Writing got not necessarily better, but deeper.

The plot is still way too forced, but the series shines in the details, which I mainly credit to the work of script supervisor Jeannette Mc Grath, who might just be the best in her business.

Re: Game of Thrones - the TV series

For the last two seasons, downsizing the cast seems to have been the most recurring motto - not going to put any spoilers here, but especially in the last (the 5th) episode, that became apparent again. I think the main reason here is budgetary concerns, but also the need to streamline the helplessly...

Re: Tower of Doom, my thoughts

No offense, Al, but I personally welcome very much that Mistipedia incorporates spoilers - especially with books that under normal circumstances are not available to the casual reader, any more. Like, Ravenloft, the setting, has been around for, what, 24 years by now. Especially with some of the mor...

I would have bought a mean-spirited sock-puppet, or paper-dolls.
Still getting nightmares because of that one. :azalin:

Re: Good Print on Demand site?

Yeah, sorry for dropping you a quick reddit-ish one-liner, Jester! Go look for a good print shop in your area. A normal copy shop will be able to print and bind your papers as well, but no extras. At a good local print shop, you can customize everything, from paper thickness and density, to the way ...

Re: A Ravenloft Podcast?

So, who would be up for a Google Hangout, for starters?

On Easter Weekend, maybe?

Re: A Ravenloft Podcast?

What about, say, trying a Google Hangout, or a regular chat meetup? Like, I have paddded into podcasting as well, and with no-budget, small enterprises like our own, the most important thing is to really get along, and to work constructively. And you can't really tell that from written communication...

Re: A Ravenloft Podcast?

I would like to see - but I would not helm it - a casual gamer podcast, where long-time members of the scene are interviewed. Like, especially with the scarcity of official, and the general decline of D&D as a brand, what I am much more interested in listening to how people individually develope...

Re: A Ravenloft Podcast?

I'd still be down for this, even though my own gaming interests have evolved a bit away from RL - meaning that I don't run a regular game in RL any more. But with a good structure, and minimal technical support, this still could work, and pretty well. :)

I talked to him today. He's busy with the moving and hasn't had much time to make a character. I suggested he starts when Ch 2 starts.
Yeah, guys, sorry for that. Busy month. :-? Nothing all too dramatic, but, gee, work work work.
