I try to contact Dion, but probably he's on vacation ;). I also progressed in my second submission: binders in Ravenloft. It contains some interesting info on Mists and Gwydion, from a player perspective (ie rumours, lies, truths, nothing that can be considered a spoiler). And it's very dark. With s...

You raise a very funny question, and you give one of the many possible answers. Now I can think of some amazing pranks by some daring adventurers :P, like Malocchio disappearing from a ball because a group of adventurers called him, then someone of them having readied an action to throw him a scramb...

Why's no one mad about turning Sherlock Holmes into an elf? I am not exactly mad, but I always thought that the rip-off could be less obvious, please. Now to the minis. It's typical for dnd minis NOT to keep the stats of the original minis. They try to be playable on the table, and sometimes they h...

d20 modern for most of ravenloft, with material from 3.5. For western core and paridon definitely d20 modern. The creation of homo-universalis pcs, few versatile classes to keep track off, low magic included in the system, massive damage thresholds which make people think twice about combat.... blah...

For me personally, it's more the point that many players want to find a Tolkienesque idyl when they play a fantasy game. Unfortunately yes, Tolkien has too much of an influence in the genre. That's what makes a lot of players dislike Eberron (too modern for their taste). As far as Charney's game is...

For me, Ravenloft has three drawbacks: Too much power to the DM. Look, it's almost like WW was writing Ravenloft from the beginning: a lot of DM devices (borders, mists transposing players, restrictions to magic), tons of metaplot, DM-friendly books (how many books about Ravenloft a player actually ...

Publication of other EtCR contest entries?
As far as I remember it was said that the rest of authors who submitted thinks for the EtCR Ravenloft would be contacted to prepare their entries for some kind of netbook. Is it true? I haven't been contacted
