Re: DM seeking DM Powers Check Advice
Found bleakborn in Libris Mortis. They seem to be just an updated version of the same creature, as the description also references Moil zombies.

Re: Genre savvy NPCs
Kind of an interesting one: Toben the Many. His disease can spread anywhere so he's in the perfect position to make comparisons between domains (simultaneously), has plenty of expendable bodies to waste on Mist-hiking, he has a high intelligence score on his own, plus he has access to the skills and...

Re: The Stars are NOT right...
As Ravenloft is a low-fantasy Gothic setting, would you allow your characters to be able to travel to the 'moon' or is that a bit too Baron Munchausen? And if the Mists transported the PC's to the moon, would their characters actually realise? It would probably freak out the players if they looked ...

Re: Core-wide (or wider) activities/conspiracies
The Circle/Knights of the Shadows and the Order of the Guardians. One of the Kargatane books had the Order of Twilight, which was trying to free the Nightmare Court. It's technically tied to the Kargat, but the Martira Bay thieves' guild could have interests elsewhere in the Sea of Sorrows. Dark Tal...

Re: Your Headcanon: The True Nature of the Dark Powers?
Mine is kind of weird (and not particularly gothic), and that's that there are no "Dark Powers" per se. In my head, the Mists were formed when some kind of planar rupture caused the Ethereal and Plane of Shadow to hemorrhage into some unnamed Prime Material plane, and the mix of planar ene...

Re: [DM] Help me with various description and storytelling
By the way, if you want some examples of how to actually run a game (how to handle descriptions and the like) you have a great resource at your fingertips. There are lots of real D&D sessions captured on youtube, or streamed on twitch, etc. I don't know of any specific good examples, but a bit ...

Re: I need some explanation about darklords
One question about darklords. They can be killed? there is some exceptions? What happen if someone kills a darklord? I know of gabrielle who killed bakholis (if my memory doesnt fails me) and became a darklord. but i'm quite sure it is not granted that killing a darklord will make you a darklord.. ...

Re: A 5e Ravenloft Adventure [DMs Guild]
Thought DMs guild was only for Forgotten Realms. Times are a changing ;) http://support.dmsguild.com/hc/en-us/articles/217029298-Content-and-Format-Questions Some local discussion of the change took place: http://fraternityofshadows.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=9599 Jester has his 5e material ...

Re: A 0-Level Adventure for Ravenloft (Yes, you read right)
Not sure if this the kind of thing you're looking for, but Eclipse: The Codex Persona was a free d20 product I found a while back for building characters by picking features a la carte rather than from a pre-set class. It might be something to look at for ideas along the lines of what you're trying ...

Re: The Keeper (*Warning! Mature Content!*)
Bloody Charisma checks... I don't know what this means.... I think it just means he feels Jimsolo said what he meant to say, only better. There is also the possibility of Honor killings to be considered. If I remember the scenario is taking place in Darkon (or rather, I assume, because the Nevuchar...

Re: Power check variant or made by users?
I know title is quite a mess, anyway I am looking for an alternative more balanced powercheck ruleset. I know there is one because I did read it some time ago but I can't find it anywhere. I am pretty sure I found it on here. It was a reworked power check ruleset that uses a d20 instead of d100 for...

Re: The Keeper (*Warning! Mature Content!*)
Almost forgot: I was reading somewhere about creatures being caught in the mists and spat out every five or ten years or so in different places, to wreak their havok and then vanish again. I thought it was in the guide to zombies, but I can't find it now. Does anyone know what this is? Probably fug...

They were undead children from Libris Mortis with an aura that makes it easier for magic users to apply metamagic to necromancy spells.Suvie wrote:What's a slaymate?!

Re: slaymates in ravenloft?
Since slaymates boost necromantic powers, I could see them being a valuable commodity in Ravenloft, but since they are (I believe) the result of children who died due to the betrayal of their guardians, they would likely be difficult to create reliably. One (pretty awful) possibility would be for a ...
