Wait a minute... You mean to say that it isn't JAh-son and DAh-vid? Boy is my face red!

Roti it is. I'll keep it in mind.
Thanks, WolfKook. Rotipher was so upset about being called "Rot" that she has been festering for the past week...

Do we really need any more Planescape in Ravenloft than we already have? Well, it largely depends upon how you intend to use such concepts in Ravenloft (as Jester aptly summarized in the post above) as well as how much diversity you wish to add to your version of the Ravenloft setting. If that does...

As such, we would probably end up with the members of the Fraternity (That is, Jöel, Dion, Rot, Jester, Wiccy... Hope I'm not forgettin' to mention any of them) doing the most part of the job, and the rest of us contributing with ideas. Actually, you forget Stephen (ScS), Nathan, myself (Jason), an...

I think that Igor's approachs really cover the basics of what you need, although there is one bit of advice that I would highly recommend: Never assume that what is obvious to you is also obvious to your players. A DM, who I used to game with, tended to make that mistake. I would recommend that you ...

I'd personally go about a point buy system by setting each stat at 8 by default and having 24 additional points to distribute. That'll give each character the ability to have up to 3 scores of 16, or a nice even spread that lacks super-stats I'm actually a big fan of streamlining things myself, and...

No problem, Jakob. You'll have to keep us posted as to how you end up using these details. I'd be interested in hearing how another DM/player goes about doing things...

With regards to the Twisting, I've never liked the notion that it needs to be true of all Good-type outsiders in Ravenloft, and I rather doubt that Carnival ever intended it to. If a Lawful archon came to Ravenloft, its reality wrinkle ought to do something totally different from Isolde's, if you a...

Re: Good outsiders and corruption points

The question is: are power rituals an inherently evil action? Is gaining corruption points having effects on my being "good"? Is it a viable option to contrast the twisting? I would tend to agree with Rotipher in that power rituals should probably be considered as inherently evil. Binding...

Re: nWoD campaign help

I don't know how much control I want to give the players over what they become. Do I let them choose the supernatural type, but I control what subtype (i.e. they say Vampire and I choose clan), or do I choose the type and let them control the other aspects (i.e I say Changeling, and they choose see...

There's a thread just started at Wizards.com of people lamenting the fact that they can't get onto Fraternity of Shadows. Thanks for the heads-up, but Joel (Gotten) already saw and responded to the post. He notified our Infernal Administrator as well, although we'll have to wait and see if we can f...

You see me extremely sorry of the news. I hate cancer. Cancer is indeed a cruel mistress. It will be a great day when someone truly finds a cure for it (without having to poison oneself so terribly). If I think of something cool for battle cry, I'll let you know. Thanks, Joel. Likewise, if someone ...

Good Dwarven Oath/Battle Cry

A close friend of mine, who has been playing a dwarven fighter in my campaign for the last ~10 years, was recent diagnosed with bone cancer. While the prognosis is rather severe, things are looking fairly good that he'll pull through after several months of chemotherapy & radiation treatments. A...

If you can give 3.5 a home here alongside 4.0, then I can live with that. As you stated yourself, it wouldn't be too difficult to continue supporting earlier editions (i.e., 2e, 3e, 3.5e). I don't think that we'll be completely converting over to a new system without offering anything for the previ...

I would say that around 15 years old seems to be a very good age in which to introduce Raveloft to young players. By this age, most players would have a good grounding in Gothic horror and would understand the more delicate intricacies involved (beyond basic adventuring). However, I agree with Sylai...
