Re: Campaigns with Undead PCs, Low magic

Although I've never run it, but I'm told E6 is way to play a low magic D&D game - there are rules out there for E6. In E6 the top level that anyone can achieve is 6th level, after that leveling up means extra hit points, skill points and feat progression, but no other class features above 6th le...

Re: Magic pistol question

Last year, I designed and posted a gunslinging archetype for Magus, HERE . I wanted a to design a magus spellcaster that emulated Roland from Steven King's Gunslinger series with magic working through a pair of revolver pistols for an Old West analog setting I was playing in. One of his class featur...

Re: Magic pistol question

Hey, guys, I am running a Pathfinder campaign and one of my PCs is a gunslinger. I am planning on giving him a magic pepperbox pistol in one of the coming sessions and I would like some help designing the weapon. I'm thinking of a magic pistol that let's the wielder use Haste in order to gain an ex...

Re: Auditory Inspiration - Music and sounds with Ravenloft f

There's a bunch of audio music/sound files at Tabletop Audio that could definitely fit Ravenloft atmosphere. Although many genres are covered, many in other genres would still apply to Ravenloft ambiance. Really anything except the modern/sci-fi sounds probably can fit in Ravenloft somewhere (and re...

Re: Been commissioned to create maps for Activision Call of

Awesome. You work with Activision's flag ships. You're playing in the big league now! :) While in Activision's headquarters, tell them you would LOVE to draw maps for a game in a medievalish gothic castle of a vampire, somewhere in a misty land. And that such a game would be a hit. ;) Or maybe I sh...

Been commissioned to create maps for Activision Call of Duty

This is more a bragging post than anything else, but I thought some might be interested. Its just been confirmed that I will be getting a freelance contract by a third party contracting firm who works with video game companies. I am being hired to create 20 - 30 maps for the Activision Call of Duty:...

Re: Pyramids

Don't forget one of the largest pyramidal structures in the world is a rammed earth pyramid found near Cahokia, Illinois constructed by the Hopewell native peoples around 700 years ago - of which there are several examples, that resemble natural hills today from extensive erosion.

Re: The Buddhist Wheel of Life and Death... board game?

Here's the gist of the Wheel, as explained to me by the Buddhist priestess (not completely, but what I know so far.)The hub of the wheel contains: rage, jealousy - the emotions that drive humanity and remain unchanged. The next layer of the wheel contains 3 positive aspects and 3 negative aspects. T...

The Buddhist Wheel of Life and Death... board game?

So I had the most interesting visit to my shop last Friday morning. A Buddhist regional leader (bishop?) of a particular sect of Buddhism for the US Midwest approached me about helping her create a board game/card game that is a teaching tool to introduce the concepts and processes of the Buddhist W...

Re: domains from other games?

IMO, settings and domains are generally game system agnostic. Just as it would be relatively easy to convert Barovia to 13th Age, Shadows of Esteren or some other RPG system, it would be relatively easy to move a setting designed for any other game system and port it to Ravenloft using an d20 or pre...

Re: What would you include in a Gothic Horror map symbol set

Excellent feedback, Alhoon! I can certainly grey up or otherwise darken (age) the wood, I will shoot for more sombre colors, also I can do 2 sets of some of the stuff, existing colors and sombre versions. Right now I'm creating the banquet table of fresh food: roasted pig, bread, a bowl of beets, a ...

Re: What would you include in a Gothic Horror map symbol set

Working on 3+ story small gothic castle with cellar, catacomb levels, castle grounds, and perhaps a small local region map with castle sited on it. I'm doing all this for inspiration in coming up with the right ideas to create more gothic horror icons to fit the theme - its better than randomly desi...

Re: Hunadora's basement aka Medraut's necromantic lab

Interesting, a lot of your basic ideas and things for the lab is exactly what I am currently working on for my current map object set. Last night I was working on creating an operating theater for a vivisectionish - medical tools, operating table, etc. But I will be including solomonic circles, magi...

Re: What would you include in a Gothic Horror map symbol set

Here's an aristocrat's home/office desk - an ornate desk and chair with fabric (based on 18th century furnishings), an open book, some loose sheets of parchment, a ledger account sheet, a quill and inkwell, a candelabra, wine decanter and wine glass with stopper and wine, and a flint lock pistol pee...

Re: What would you include in a Gothic Horror map symbol set

Here's a coach, coachman and horses with proper tack. I created versions with the roof removed over the passenger section, and the full coach... enjoy!
