What sort of domain are you planning on setting the adventure in, as that can help determine a number of factors.
also I second the carrion crown stuff, particularly the book rule by fear which gives you info on Ustalav that you can take and steal for other domains.

Re: some questions
"Both detitute poverty and decadent opulence are rare sights in the realm." is what I was looking at, though looking through the book made me realize i was wrong in my thoughts. I learn stuff everyday

Re: some questions
I'm not sure i'd call a nation of squatters living in crumbling half-ruins, "Eden". :) except that contridicts about them having no poverty. no poverty means no beggers, no squaters, no homeless, no hungry people, no poor and so forth >.> or am I looking at it at the wrong way? >.>

Re: some questions
ah, Jaqueline is de-facto queen, that might have been what I read though i thought I read another line. I know Gabrielle was declared a queen when she ruled Invidia, and probaly still considers herself one. It is mostly the issue with poverty I have. the books make it sound out to be an eden, and we...

some questions
Hello, I have some questions that other lore people might be able to help me with. mostly about richemulot. 1.) does richemulot really have no poverty, and thus no poor and thus no problems with the poor; as well as land available for the taking. Sounds almost perfect? even with the wererats it just...

NPCs
Heya, I am looking for NPCs for my falkovinia game that I am working on, so I am curious if some people could help me with NPC lists. Any NPC from netzines and what not from falkovinia would also be good as well. they do not necessarily have to be for ravenloft, so any NPC lists people have from oth...

Re: Idea for a secret society
Perhaps make them a free-mason sort of society? and personally the 2nd one looks the creepiest and the one I would use.

Re: showing falkovinian opression
Now a question comes how to contrast the harshness of drakov's falkovinia with its small joys. I think having joys and good things helps bring out the darkness of a realm. a few ideas, more ideas are welcome of course. Showing some kind deeds of various soldiers; such as buying wooden dolls for his ...

Re: showing falkovinian opression
I have to agree with Ewan and HMB. Playing up the supernatural aspects of Darkon too much is a bad idea. Yes, magic and monsters are more prevalent (and if you use the optional Magic Rating rules, Darkon is the only Magic Rating 5 domain in the Core), but otherwise it's a place not too different fr...

Re: showing falkovinian opression
One thing to play up might be the continual emphasis that "Darkon is the enemy". Most oppressive regimes rely heavily on an enemy and propaganda, with the increasingly oppressive measures being done to "protect" the people. Darkon is a cursed realm ruled by a lich who employs va...

Re: showing falkovinian opression
snip I do agree with you that Drakov needs to have reasons for why he does things, and I don't personally like the complete monster without any redeming values, because then it gets to a level where it is not horrifying but silly IMO. one thing I personally have not nailed down atm is weather Drako...

Re: showing falkovinian opression
ooh, neat character concept that doctor is. I shall use him! Also the more I look at my falkovinia, the more I realize that it is sort of akin to a western version of Qin/china's first emperor. As without magic, and demihumans a number of things have changed from canon. Their can not be demihuman sl...
