Re: Video game domains?
You’d need to change things (a lot), but the original Halo has an interesting idea. Humans are being wiped out by some alien (monster) race. In fleeing from their home island after it is sacked by the monsters, a human warship discovers a mysterious magical structure which they discover the monsters...

Re: Hygiene and fashion (Richemulot / Dementlieu), food for thought
I suppose the big thing to remember is that just because Europeans were skeptical of bathing doesn’t mean everyone was. Indeed part of the reason Europeans weren’t into it was because they knew non-Christian groups that bathed regularly and didn’t want to imitate them or raise suspicion that they se...

Re: I Need Help! Making a Vampire Class!
If there’s no forced alignment change, why would appropriate holy symbols cause issues? Maybe there’s some obvious answer, but I would think the character might well think some appropriately aligned deity or deities was helping it stay where it was alignment wise.

Re:
Overall Mithras Court is good. I would say above average. Here is my review: It is more Gothic Earth meets Ravenloft. The characters are from late 19th Century London and travel to the new Ravenloft domain of Mithras Court, which looks very similar to London. At first the characters assume they are...

Re: Wheel of Time TV series [Show spoilers, no book spoilers]
It is Min that is visiting Egwene as a Damane and it happens once per week for a few minutes. There are no mentions in the Great Hunt, which I finished a couple of weeks ago, that Min was considered attracted to a Daman. Mat not Min. It comes in a later book and a different city when he is trying t...

Re: Wheel of Time TV series [Show spoilers, no book spoilers]
Jordan was never coy about any intimate relationships happening in the present during the books as best as I can remember. There was stuff that happened in the past such as Thom’s dalliances that is vague, but in the present it was always straightforward what had happened when two characters initiat...

LOL! Tolkien is the one place I think they actually work, but it was built for that.Mephisto wrote:I guess someone doesn't like The Hobbit so much...
PS
Not even kender vampires?
Kender vampires sounds like something from a bad SNL skit.

You got me. I don’t actually do this, but if I did these wouldn’t make an appearance. I probably would let someone play a halfling if they wanted, but you won’t be meeting any halfling NPCs.Mistmaster wrote:Halfling are Canon in Ravenloft.

Kender, halflings, anything that ends in -folk. Really unlikely any of stupider races from the books are going to show up, but those are three I’ll definitely not use.

Re: The Sheltered Isles
For me reading, the main problem to the tech levels seems to be these places are very close together. My impression is Schlot and Crublu can even see each other from their shores. Why wouldn’t they want to adopt at least some of the more advanced technologies of their neighbors? This seems especiall...

Re: Quoth the Raven #29 requests thread
Requests for QtR 2-9...hmm I'd like to see this community's response dedicated to de-D&Ding Ravenloft. A divorce if you will. Of sorts. What would Ravenloft be if we rewrote the setting into a game that better aligns itself with its (bulk) gothic literature roots? Ordinary people put in extraor...

Re: Full Fraternity of Shadows narrative
This seems as good a place as any. What is the Fraternity of Shadows? What is the Kargatane? Explain it to me like I don’t know anything about it because I don’t.
