Yes, my thoughts on humans were not to add any kind of ability score modification, merely something like the WoT setting offered, namely regional bonus feats, class skills associated with each region, and bonus starting equipment that reflected the person's background in some way.

I haven't done it yet, but Cage of Delirium from Goodman Games' dungeon crawl classics series is basically a ravenloft module by another name. Plus you get a Midnite Syndicate cd with it.
