Wow!

As the original writer :-), kudos... While I'm not too familiar with 5e (or not at all- stopped playing at 3.5e), it seems like a really nice way to update. Still- perhaps a more detailed Deformities list would be fitting, to allow Caliban players more varieties (or it can be an open list, similar t...

True Detective in Ravenloft (big spoilers from the series)

Hello everybody, posting again after some years... I recently watched the excellent HBO series True Detective, and the plot and setting just screamed Ravenloft to me! Think about it: 1. Terrifying ritualistic murders of unwanted, low-class women 2. The setting- vast swamps and tiny hillbilly village...

About Constantine

Constantine isn't a darklord- yet, perhaps... He didn't commit any single great act of ultimate darkness, and his undeath wasn't of his own making (or perhaps it was...) Constantine went out of the Mists in Darkon, only to find a world filled with evil and corruption to its brink, perhaps as much as...

Saint Constantine- an NPC (long)

The NPC is called Saint Constantine, Seeker of Sin, He Who Sees the Impure. He belongs in my homebrewed world of Gothica, but he can be used in Ravenloft very easily. History: Originally Saint Constantine was a priest and was born 200 years ago. In Gothica he worships the Three, the world's main rel...

World of Gothice perliminary work

Gothica is a new campaign setting I started working on, influenced by Ravenloft, Lord of the Rings and Warhammer Fantasy among other influences. I originally posted it on the Ravenloft Projects board but got no responses, so perhaps people will criticize it and be willing to help me here? Gothica: A...

World of Gothica perliminary work

Gothica: A World under Shadow Core Ethos Statement Gothica is a world standing on the brink of Destruction and fighting for its survival against overwhelming odds. The malevolent power of entropy known as the Darkness gathered power over the many Eons and through mortal foolishness managed to breach...

"No" races

Here are the races I would not allow: Too powerful- things like Ghosts (because of incorporeality) and Vampires (the standard D&D Vampires at least- I'm working on my own +1 ECL Fledgling template). Too alien and mystery-ruining- things like full-blooded Vistani (ruin the mystery of the setting-...

QtR 11

Any estimated release date? How many articles left to edit? I hope this issue will be as good as QtR 9 or at least better than the medicore QtR 10.

Jezra Wagner

Hmm, Freezing Fear was my 2nd favorite theme after the Oriental theme (since I was preparing an article about Raksasha). I plan to do a domain write-up called the Sea of Frozen Whispers, as well as a 3rd edition write-up of Jezra Wagner, the Ice Queen of Barovia as well as details on her lair.

Drinking holy water

There was a Buffy episode in which she lured a mad Vampire to take his pills with holy water. He was burnt from the inside out.

Orient

I say the Oriental theme, as I'm doing an article about Raksasha similar to the one about Deepkin from QtR 9. I also find it an interesting and unexplored topic, unlike say the Walking Dead.

My wishes

I would like to see the Timothys, Von Zaroviches (full stats and a better history for Lyssa, info on Sergei etc.) and Weathermays detailed in addition to the other families listed.

The Grudge

I saw the Movie 3 weeks ago and it was so-and-so. Some scenes gave me the creeps (like the ghost rising from the shadows) while others made me laugh (the "brother" moaning on the phone, the ghost-child wailing like a cat). It is full of Ravenloft inspiraitons, though. I would make the hous...
